Forgot all about that UK LP, had a copy about 10 years ago...pretty sure I sold it to John Kelly at the Hideaway one night...
-
Seems tougher to find with 'Chapel' flip but no difference in price as far as I know.....though black label fetches a better price than yellow...
-
Or simply grind/cut down the acetate and fit in a 7inch sleeve. Honestly, you guys don't half over complicate stuff at times.....
-
Richard, whilst your post to defend your wife is admirable, the majority of its context is confusing to say the least. I'm not aware that you have attended any R&B events for a good few years, so how can you claim to be the voice of reason on what is good, bad or indifferent out of any new discoveries?
-
Not gonna phone the fcukers, won't get anywhere so what's the use. Can't complain really Kev, only ever been hit a few times, but it is that £8 handling charge that's really takes the p*ss, especially as I had to drive an 8 mile round trip to pick it up. Had to wait till their 2 hour lunch was up as well....cavier and quails eggs no doubt!!!
-
Just used that calculator and if you include the cost of shipping it gets added to your total product value!!!! As it happens, I only got charged for the product value without the shipping, and $25 worked out as £15.65 on current exchange rate ..... so I effectively got charged £11.13 for 65pence above threshold.
-
Just got charged £11.13 (£3.13 Vat + £8 handling) for a package valued at $25. Anything over £15 now attracts VAT and the extortionate £8 handling fee. I thought cut off was £22 so queried if value of package had been read in £s rather than $s Was told now £15 and to ring up if wanted to complain.... Oh wait, its an 0845 number....that'll probably cost me another £4 to moan about the £8 handling fee they charged me to invoice me £3.13 VAT for a package that's only about £2 over the threshold. You couldn't fuckin make it up if you tried....

Got a M- copy of Debra Johnson for £45 + post if you still need a copy? Regards Mace
-
Yeah, that was one lucky find, plus one off eBay for $160 not long after I missed Moerers....first copy cost me a monkey off Butch mind....
-
I didn't actually sneak a peak of Mr Dysons copy, I pestered him to tell me and the Academy label was mentioned by Andy and then he told me he was winding me up....Des and I pulled up an Academy discography and figured it was JT....Moerer had one on his site for $150 so I requested a sound file to be sure...later that day my pc crashed and when I got back on line that copy had gone..... As far as I'm aware Andy Dyson first played this record, but Id say the subsequent exposure it got from a few DJs from the Mod scene certainly ignited its popularity...
-
Dont have soundfiles for female and slow version of 'Lover'.....the Joe Nathune JT 811 version of Crazy is on YouTube link below...sounds slightly faster than the version I have on JT 808 but might be pitched up slightly...
-
Also released a version of 'Crazy' on JT 811 as Joe Nathune with a different flip to the JT 808 release. Not sure if this version is different to other 2 releases as not heard it?
-
-
Don't rate the female version, though seems to be very rare, and the slow version of 'Lover' is terrible....can't recall if its under the pseudonym of Joe Nathune....he also recorded an earlier slower version of 'Crazy' under this name on Jay-Tone 808 which works much better than the slow version of 'Lover '.....similar in style / tempo to the likes of Barbara McNair 'He's a king'
