  1. Can anyone download tracks to Shazam. If so, maybe a potential c/u should be first downloaded to Shazam with alternative cover up details to confuse the competitor even more. A double cover-up! Shall we start a new thread???
  2. Well it's took me a good few years to get there! I will add, the only time I have seen anyone using their phone to 'shazam' a track in a venue it has been DJs and collectors....the dancers do what they always do, dance and get lost in the music. Which kinda sums up that it isn't important to most folk, just friendly rivalry amongst DJs. Kinda like Thorsten waving an obvious 45 in your face that he found in a sales box you'd already been through and somehow missed....nows there's a bastard for ya!
  3. Perhaps you can then go online and reveal every bodies cover-ups so everyone has a fair chance to find copies as well giving your competition the chance to reissue said tracks before you. That's surely the best way to share the music and morally the only way to do it ?
  4. Shazam doesn't always work ;o)
  5. If it's good enough for our government to cover crazy shit up, it's good enough for me. ;o)
  6. Des Parker once 'revealed' one of his cover-ups to be 'Hugh Janus', by scribbling it down on a scrap of paper after much persuasion from a certain lady. The unsuspecting recipient was so thrilled to acquire this nugget of information she had to read it out aloud before realising what he had written....
  7. Volumes - I ain't gonna give you up - Karen??? Apparently, on the Solid Smoke LP which includes the above track Ollie McLaughlin writes in the liner notes that this was never released? Don't have the LP to quote exact comment, but could this be the 45 in question.....? Keep calm, it's only a suggestion..... ;o)
  8. Plenty of goodies in those dollar boxes Michael!
  9. Sold a minty US issue for about £20 some 4 years ago but never had another since.....probably 100 count box @ Val Shivelys but he'll probably want $40 a piece nowadays....
  10. LEGO have also missed a major trick there.....!
  11. Personal opinions are one thing...current market value is another. I wasn't aware that the record was even known 40 years ago (1974?) though I was 6 so what would I know.....but I'm sure there are plenty more records that were £15 back then that command more than £350 now. The price did fall when it turned up but slowly and surely rose back up in the last 5 years or so. It's obvious by the subsequent replies that folk do value it at the price I quoted, and there are plenty of examples online to back it up. The fact that you and Pete think its worth less is of no consequence to its market value, and I'm sure the next one listed either on here or on eBay (if in ex cond and advertised correctly) will only re-confirm this. On saying that I just noticed there's a lookalike boot all over eBay....well,I presume its a boot? Apologies if fully licensed....
  12. Someone I know listed one on FB a few months later at £325....it also sold very quickly. The 11 other enquiries I received were during the same day, not a few weeks later from chancers after a bargain thinking it was overpriced. It is what it is.....I actually reckon you'd probably get £400 from someone! Anyways, mine is long gone so god knows why I'm arguing the toss....sell em at £200 for all I care. ;o)
  13. It was listed on here and sold very very quick. I didn't update sold status for a while and received another 11 enquiries. You and Pete reckon £200 max so that's why I said Id be happy to buy af that...regardless of % margin....but surely you guys would be more than happy with that if it's worth no more! PM with if either of you land a spare....cash waiting!
  14. A few have sold for this kind of money recently...on the back of which I listed mine last year for that price and had 12 calls for it....it surprised me but there you go. In case you think Im full of shit I'll happily buy any ex cond copiea offered at £200 all day long.....(unless another boxfull turn up of course!)
  15. Betty Lloyd is now £350 +
  16. Shoulda used standard font instead of trying to posh up your list!
  17. Seems to be a different font on iphone....can read okay on laptop.
  18. Thought it was Chinese mesen..
  19. I'm actually pretty busy today, but I'm blessed with a job I can earn good money at with plenty of 'me' time inbetween....appreciate the concern all the same.
  20. Didn't stop you a few posts back ;o)
  21. Fair comment Pete, though quoting the original post in Toads reply would have clarified it.
  22. No post numbers on a mobile version of SS so that means nowt to me sorry Pete!
  23. I was frequenting Northern events alongside Mod events during the mid 80s....as were most other mods of that era. We were as inspired with Northern as we were with Latin and R&B. Lots of R&B played on the mod scene was introduced to us via the Northern Scene....we knew the DJs, dealers and collectors had the obscure stuff we were looking for. I bought the likes of Jimmie Preacher Ellie on Jewel off Butch around this time, and was constantly sourcing records of Northern dealers such as Minshull, Blondie etc during this period. To pretend the music wasn't evident in the scene back then is complete bollox. Wasn't it Minshull that first played Sonny Boy Williamson 'Help me' on the Northern Scene at the original Keele Allnighters. If you're gonna keep make such sweeping statements I'd get your facts straight first!
  24. It's a thread about R&B played on the current scene...what has going to Wigan got to do with it?
  25. Your sarcasm would probably be better received if you started the occasional new paragraph on a fresh line. See how much easier that reads?
