  1. Has been said before my good man...
  2. Right, there's enough of you looking in.....check out the soundfile and post your thoughts time...is it.... 1. Low down and dirty like Chalkys underpants... 2. Rockin' and contagious like Mace's personality...
  3. Indeedy......
  4. Joe, you're very quiet down there - thought you'd be championing the R&B corner here.......
  5. Attracting quite an audience here though mate......
  6. Lazy sunday indeed...sunny day, few pints, and a bottle of red on the go.. How come you've kept a soundfile of it then Chalky.... Come out any time mate...we'll welcome you with open arms...
  7. Cheers duck..Stokies rock ('n' rolls!!!)
  8. Heres Linda...
  9. It's a great R&B track Rach...and I think personally Chalky loves it but won't admit it......closet R&B fan methinks
  10. Whose arguing Rachel.....a healthy debate in my eyes... Linda may have a soundfile...I will email and ask her to post up if so.....
  11. 1. Just how low down and dirty do you go then Chalks... 2. Don't believe a word of it mate....
  12. Even if it's in a sales box...... Don't think you'd judge a venue by one such record played by one DJ to be honest Chalky. Understand your view on it not being Northern (though who these bounderies are set by I'm not to sure! ) Personally love the tune, though I am biased cuz I have a passion for decent R&B, but would prefer to hear stuff like this than played out oldies or 'disco' shite... Not a million miles of difference from the old school classics like '7 day fool', or 'Dust my broom'.....but are the latter just acceptable in Northern rooms by the fact they have established their place in the Northern Scene (rightly or wrongly)...as I said, watch this space....
  13. Presumably all the print is red with a white label? Just rechecked mine, which is a white label with Gladhamp in red ink and all other print in black - doesn't actually say promo or such on it, so not sure if it is a promo or not (can't remember if the other copies I sold had promo on label or not) £500....bit over the top in my book, and would have thought the Spanish pic sleeve e.p. would have been rarer...maybe I sold too cheap Some-one told me it was a big tune in U.S. and gets regular airplay on Rock & Roll radio stations.....maybe this ties in with the Carlton reissue? As for Chalkys comment about it being played in Northern dos.....heard odder things take off meself...as I'm sure we all have... anyway, watch this space....
  14. I've had 5 copies - 3 wlp on Gladhamp (£150+), a mega rare pic sleeve on Spanish E.P.( Vegara label or similar?) which I sold Hoss, and he then sold onto Carl Willingham (£250+) Also had a copy on a U.S. reissue (Carlton label, which I believe was a limited pressing for the Rock 'n' Roll scene)...(£30) Massive tune on R&B circuit, and one that will no doubt have an impact on the Northern Scene (heard Ginger is after a copy after hearing Carl play it at Brighouse) Though no doubt will get slagged off as Rock & Roll, whilst packing the floors at Northern dos and hit a value of £400+ by this time next year...
  15. Is the artist name correct here or is this supposed to be Anna Belle Caesar and Lionel Hampton on Gladhamp....MONSTER R&B...
  16. Had a heart stopping moment with my copy of Chapter 5 many years ago at a Mod weekender on the Isle of Wight. Was DJing whilst p*ssed (not the norm for me.... ) and for some reason picked my copy up off the deck as it had just finished and threw it spinning into the air about 3 or 4 feet high....intending to catch it as it came back down (don't ask why I did this cus I honestly don't know !) Anyway, didn't catch it, but watched horrified as it landed on it's edge, between my feet onto the carpet, and rolled under the decks and onto a full dancefloor. Managed to fling music off in a nano second and shout 'Stand still, nobody move' to a bemused audience as it weaved its way, unharmed through countless legs and feet. : Retrieved the bugger from said dancefloor, and returned it to the safety of my playbox, where it still sits today. I have obviously never repeated this insane trick since...........though I do still get p*ssed occasionaly whilst DJing....
  17. Thanks...it really was a great night. Review posted in event section.....feel free to post a playlist Shute.... Regards, Mace.
  18. You'll be alright for another few days...he's still in detention..
  19. Haven't seen Malc for ages Ged. How is he?
  20. That's cus he's squinting so much lately. Told him not to wear them thongs when he's out and about....
  21. Great little tune, put it on one of the Bidds CDs a few months back. Heard price is between £80 - £100, but like Ged said, bit too high. £50 would probably be a fair price at moment.....that'll be £300 by December then! Regards, Mace.
  22. I've just repeated this one - sorry Hammy. Mind you...mine's on UPFRONT...................
  23. Elgins 'Street scene' and 'You found yourself another fool' Marva Josie 'Later for you baby' and 'You lied' Ralph Graham 'She just sits there' and 'You had to hurt someone' Sure this topic was done recently, but still great thread. Mace.
  24. Lordy bring back the cold spell !
  25. I'll make sure the heatings on so no wigs needed! See ya tomorrow Shute. Regards, Mace.
