  1. I heard that Butch and Tim Ashibende both had one in their sales boxes, but neither were priced....don't you just hate that....always feel too embarressed to ask
  2. You've got to remember that these are U.K. releases only, and will always keep their price, regardless of how many are repressed. All British collectors will confirm this fact......
  3. 'Pays perfect'....beauty...
  4. Anybody got the price guide value....
  5. Minus ebay commission, plus £1.50 postage.......breakeven maybe?
  6. Seen it all now.... https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3974403690&rd=1
  7. Oh, right....mind you, you're one for all things 'modern' eh Trouty.....
  8. Just realised how fitting that whistling smilie would be if the musical notes were not there.....
  9. ...however, as I posted the whiskey/taste comment earlier, I would like to point out that I certainly do not wish to learn all the 'tricks' of the trade from Mr Rimmer, and would therefore prefer not to drink at all if certain 'tricks' need performing..... Back on topic - Col Stubbs beers are a great idea that should grace the bar of all soul venues (and no, I'm not on commission), and bottled versions would be even better.
  10. I believe so - as it's started about a Soulie who owns a brewery, and make beers with names like Northern Dancer etc. Their is also a strong link between soul music and beer, with Mr Rimmer being the guvnor and myself being the apprentice.....
  11. ...mind you, I have heard you are partial to the odd whisky Dave. Believe it helps to get rid of any odd tastes out of your mouth, especially after long car journeys....
  12. Might have tasted one at Middlewich Legion some time ago...but was too pickled to remember.... Col is a great lad, and if he is as passionate about his beer making as his record collection, then it will surely be a mighty fine tipple...
  13. Whats 'compulary' mean Trouty.....is this word from an alcoholics dictionary...
  14. Methinks you may be right Joe......great tune. You ready for Steam on Saturday mate (amongst your many other DJ spots that day.... )
  15. Not if it inteferes with the drinking eh?
  16. ...him, not me...I was driving..
  17. Not sure - met up with Colin Stubbs at Big Lock last night, and told him his beers were being discussed on Soul Source. Email him from his website.....he may well get some sorted. Tried to convince him to name one 'Down an out' last night as George Freeman was being spun, he seemed quite impressed with the idea, but was slightly pickled at the time....
  18. Think these are Colin Stubbs beers (he owns a brewery in Runcorn) Col is a Winsford lad who has been on the scene for donkeys years but doesn't get out as much just lately(since he bought the brewery actually... ) He'll probably be at the Big Lock in Middlewich tonight, and has had his beers on the pumps at Middlewich Legion, where they also have soul nights.
  19. Okay, first half of list of a few pieces from my sales box. Postage at cost - please P.M. me if interested in any Regards, Mace. 20. Seem to recall first edition was free lineage advertising, but was limited to Northwest only, not a national distribution then. Have got first copy here, and Alsager Civic was advertised without me sending info or paying - Paul must have filled events listing with info from flyers to promote the concept. Regards, Mace.
  21. That's the bunny I was thinking of...hmmm, gonna rush home so I can have a listen now. Sounds interesting.......
  22. No speakers at work, so can't listen in....but will hazard a guess. There is a tune similar to The Whispers 'The dip' called something like 'I ain't got time' which has similar intro and starts off with vocals something like, 'I ain't got time to do the dip......' I'm sure it's on one of the Millionaires CDs, cus Dave Evison plays it to death in his car, I just can't recall artist / group title. Will listen in tonight and confirm...Whispers is a great tune to boot! Regards, Mace.
  23. T.F.F.T.
  24. Who mentioned 60s only......some damm fine 50s stuff as well.... Dreadfull to some, brilliant to others, and plenty inbetween...or is yours the only view to count Trouty
