    Posting funeral details regards the passing of an old friend who hasn’t been active on the soul scene for a good few years. Wayne Barrett, aged 64, recently passed away……anyone who knew Wayne & Andrea are welcome to join his family and friends to say goodbye to a lovely guy. Funeral is 9:20 am on Tuesday 13th August at Bradwell Crematorium, Chatterley Close, Bradwell, Newcastle, Staffordshire, ST5 8LE.

Hear fabulous tracks loud and proud, and then buy if you like 'em! Everyone welcome to bring a small box of 45s for trade or sale. Followed at 4pm by our Sunday Soul Session with DJs.... KITCH - DES PARKER - JOHNNY BEGGS - MACE - DAZ HOWLE. Spinning mainly under played and lesser known Soul, R&B, Northern, Motown, Funk and more. So a full 8 hours or fun, and FREE ADMISSION for all ! Great cocktail bar venue - only 5 mins walk from Alsager Railway Station and on the main Stoke to Crewe Bus Route (#3) Lots of great restaurants nearby !

    The OUTDOOR Record Fair Returns... This Sunday 27th September High Street - Newcastle-under-Lyme STAFFORDSHIRE ST5 1PW LAST ONE FOR 2020 at Newcastle-under-Lyme! Newcastle-under-Lyme Markets and Cannonball Records bring a third (and final for 2020) OUTDOOR Record Fair to The Stones in the historic Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre, Staffordshire on Sunday 27th September 2020. The full address is..... HIGH STREET, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1PW There will be thousands of Records and CDs and dealers from across the UK specialising in Soul, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Folk and much more. Over 25 tables of musical bargains and rarities with everything from Abba to Zappa,, specialist dealers from all over the UK selling Soul and Blues imports, Rare Jazz, Rock n Roll, Indie, Metal and Classical. An open market environment, with plenty of overheard tarp covers if it rains....weather has been forecast as mainly cloudy with sunny spells. There will be hot food and drinks for sale when you need a break from digging through all the vinyl and lots of parking space close to the town centre as Council-run car parks are free on a Sunday. Looks set to be a great day, hope you can join us for one last fair before the Winter weather kicks in !

    I picked up a nice copy of this 45 ('Phases of time' side) at Nottingham record Fair, some 18 months or so ago, and mentioned it on here at the time.....anyways, long story short, I got a few nice offers, but decided to hold onto it for a while as knew it had the right sound and it genuinely seemed quite rare. Then this happens...... So, if anyone out there was involved in the bidding for this, and wants to offer me similar $$s then I'm all ears baby! Pretty sure its M-, but will dig it out and check if any serious interest for it. Also.....probably a good reason to get out your armchairs and go digging at Nottingham record fair on Saturday 7th September.....can't be there myself as got my Federal R&B Weekender on that date.....but hey, you never know what could turn up!!
