  1. "I'm Not Gonna Give Up" - certainly is ace!
  2. Exits - Under The Street Lamp/You Got To Have Money
  3. It didn't change hands at Ponds Forge earlier this year did it? If so, it's gone to a good home
  4. The Four Tops version did also get a 45 release - at least in the UK on the B-side of "Bernadette".
  5. (I assume here you refer to her cover of Baby I Need Your Lovin) The ironic thing is, that particular track can be found on Gayle's Love Fever album - when that was a new(ish) release, the track that Richard S (and probably others) opted to play was "Let's Go All The Way" - IMHO far superior, but probably still a bit too funky for today's scene.
  6. Not unprecendented - I remember someone who always used to refer to Mr. Anderson's vinyl emporium as "The Bowl"
  7. There's a version credited to the "Part Time Party Time Band" on Pyramid, JM has it for £20.
  8. Was this Ernestine Eadey?
  9. I imagined the late '70s BBC1 Programmes For Schools clock counting down as that played Hmm that's a point, may be I should cut Midland Montage to an acetate and cover it up...
  10. L.S. .... L.S.L. ..... Hm, it's not a previously unknown version of Lorraine Silver "lost Summer love" is it?
  11. Yes, it didn't end successfully though...story
  12. Think the most expensive item *ever* on eBay was when that woman offered herself as a wife - bidding starting at 10 million or thereabouts.
  13. Yes, on mine "Something..." is QAL-0078-DJ 1B and "I May..." is QAL-0077-DJ 1A. And just to confuse things even further it has the stars on "Something..." but has a sharp edge - and looks and feels as though it was pressed in 1972.
  14. I seem to remember the Del Larks was also booted at least twice - one on a counterfiet of the original label design, the other on a plain label with "Queen City" in large print across the top.
  15. Lyrics along the lines of "My world is only 6*6, a room made of bricks"? IIRC, this is Earl Van Dyke and The Andantes - think it was a MotorCity tailor made. And yes, it was pretty dire
  16. Any of Dave Godin's Deep Soul compilation CDs are a good start. Also, a personal favourite: Lea Roberts "Prove It" (Minit)
  17. The Monitors "Share A Little Love With Me" from "Greetings We're The Monitors" comes instantly to mind.
  18. No apologies necessary, obviously a lot of work (all/mostly yours one might assume) goes into soul-source.co.uk - and everyone knows what computers are like
  19. Which track is on the flipside? (I've got the album)
