  1. For what it's worth, the following is a verbatim quote from KR's editorial page in the most recent N-Soul magazine: (make of that what you will)
  2. For information it's quite easy to tell an original of this - the original has rainbow coloured stripes above and below the "nasco" logo, there's also a reissue/boot which has no such stripes.
  3. Dennis making Clowne dance
  4. Thanks for posting this Stu, I'd intended to post it myself but you know how it is in the aftermath of something like this Everyone who knew Dennis will agree, the local scene will not be the same without him. Neil
  5. A thought - maybe this is Kev's current biggie:
  6. They'd be alldayers then wouldn't they
  7. Four quid more like now actually...but yeah keep sendin 'em, it all contributes to my bonus (PS The Clowne Soul Brothers do not ban - not even those who knock us)
  8. sorry, it's net shorthand for "If I Remember Correctly" - I was in a bit of a rush when I typed the first reply
  9. James Lewis IIRC
  10. Think that was the MotorCity version, with the Andantes on vocal
  11. People are probably suspicious because of Los Cuatros Vandales For what it's worth tho, the authenticity of "Faith..." is fairly obvious - if you listen to it next to The Magicians' "Is It All Gone", a known Villa 45, it's the same vocalist.
  12. Yes it was - also if you listen to the chorus it's the same tune as the main Rocky Theme.
  13. Same here - £150 from Pete Smith back in 1999
  14. The guy's name isn't DJ Tiesticles is it? Someone of that name made a complete fool of himself a couple of years back on the dance scene by copy/pasting an event review someone else wrote onto a forum, preceded by the words "was a great night, didnt see u tho" which became something of a net catchphrase for a while
  15. That would be "Back To The Future"..."Hey Chuck it's your brother, listen to this!"
  16. Lea Roberts - Prove It Jean Wells - Have A Little Mercy
  17. There's always the Listen Again facility
  18. Peggy? Isn't this Polly Brown - or are you c/uing it - one way of avoiding the horrible plastic Polydor group "labels"
  19. It's from Sweet Charity - originally a stage play, made into a movie in 1969 - the song is credited "Words and music by Dorothy Fields and Cy Coleman" and is sung by the title character, played by Shirley Maclaine in the movie (I've got the soundtrack LP on MCA....and the film on DVD - one of my favourites of all time).
  20. Remember someone asking me about "Don't Steal The Monkey"...... .....actually Archie Bell "Soul City Walkin'"
  21. Well at our dos in Clowne, each resident DJ actually plays 2 spots of just over 1/2hr each - or sometimes one of us does a full hour or so in the middle, so we get the chance to selfindulge/educate early on and play to a full floor later, e.g. at our last do I did 8-8.30 and 11.30-12.00.
  22. Out of interest, what country is the record from? It doesn't look quite like a normal UK Decca 45
  23. Hey I always have a comb in my pocket...but then I am a bit of a poser sometimes
  24. According to the Mac Sherlock translator it means "This is known in India"
