Cant hide from the fact it was a big record down at Wigan early days 74 ish !! remember it well being played like Pete says we cant hide it from our past we were young lads then, just beginning on our Northern Soul adventures naive, ignorant, what ever you want to call it, but i wouldnt have changed it for anything, the record itself ??? not going to comment but life goes on !!!! Pete agree 100% the clapping has gone dont know why, its a pity only the odd time at certain venues you may get a little clapping,it was really as important in them days to clap as was the footwork etc etc, my partner never went to Wigan but now shes got a better insight and feel as to what it was all about....

  16. Dont know about being a myth in ref to the good dancers being at the front of the stage but BOOPER always danced front left of the stage !!!! Say no more the best dancer EVER to grace any dance floor, but there was others around him the Wolverhampton mob had loads of great dancers amongst them, some great spinners, great people straight from the Cats !!!!
  17. Hi Andy sadly Kenny Spence passed away a good few years ago late eighties i think, he was from Aspull were i still live he was a father figure to many people from our village Ste Whittle, Ian Wills, Kev Murphy, to name just a few, beachcomber was open prior to the nighters but that was early Wigan days 73-74 cant comment on what went on thereafter, the cafe i think you mean was next door to the Beachcomber but still entered it from the same door way Emp cafe it used to be called, and i must say in ref to all the comments made i Never in all the time at Wigan saw any trouble,,,,,
