  1. A great effort Mark ,very thought provoking ....Regards Eddie
  2. Keb Darge - Marsha Gee - The Dance Track .Think John Vincent had it first ,but Keb made it massive .I still love the instrumental .
  3. Pat Brady - Junior McCants - Try Me For Your New Love - King .Massive at Stafford covered up as Little Carl Carlton - Hey Little Girl .Guy Hennigan- Jackie Day - My Naughty Boy .Another Massive Record at Stafford covered up as Shirley Matthews and The Belles .Ginger Taylor - Burning Bush - Keeps On Burning - Mercury .This was massive in the 70’s and Ginger had the only copy for a while at Cleethorpes .I remember Richard getting a copy and saying the first time he played it “ I got this for Wigan “ ...
  4. Russ Winstanley - Frank Wilson -Do I Love You ( even if he probably didn’t have an original copy ,he was the first to play it ) .Ian Levine - The Carstairs ,a defining record as it was one of the first records of a different style to be played .Butch ,any number of one off exclusive records ,but his Mighty Lovers cover up would ,in my opinion be the record that defines him .Good shout with Richard Searling - Cecil Washington ,another special one would be Little Ann - What Should I Do ,one of the longest lasting cover ups as Rose Valentine ,and he still has the only known original test pressing .
  5. Great one side of this Japanese album ,shared with Bettye Swann - Elegant Soul ...

  17. Awful news , He influenced our listening and dancing pleasure to an immeasurable level , the ultimate record dealer and a man with great taste whether it was Rare Soul ,Funk ,Two Step / Rare Groove or Modern Soul New releases .We will never know anyone on that level again ,and he was such a modest and nice fella to talk too .Sleep well John and thank you for enriching my life from the 70’s until the present day x
  18. A current fave. Slightly funky and in vogue .Same song as Baby Huey - Hard Times ( Curtom )
  19. An all time fave ,think Stuart Raith taped this for me in the 80’s
  20. I went to see Doris Troy live in Cheltenham about 1973 .It was supposed to be Major Lance ,but he didn’t turn up .Also spent a day with Dave Godin in 1974 in London ,and he had arranged for us to go and visit her in London ,but it fell through at the last minute .Rest in peace Doris ,and thank you for some great Soul music .
  21. I think the Frank Wilson - Look Out Your window ,a cover or demo of a Four Tops album track is absolutely stunning , lyrically and musically .The Edwin Starr “ Pain of my loneliness “ is another stunner ,crying out to be played at a venue .
  22. Looks interesting Sean do you have a link to buy it ? Cheers Eddie
