A freind of mine has just purchased a version of " Ain't no sun " by The Originals on a black Suspension import label .It's a version of The Temps ,Dynamics ,Chuck Jackson etc song . and looks very obscure .We were wondering about the origins of this release , and why it isn't on Motown ? As it sounds like a Motown production . Can anyone help ? Thanks ,Eddie Hubbard .

First ones I bought were Tobi Legend / Dena Barnes and The Drifters " Dues " / Edward Hamilton " Weep " off Steve Glover in Soul Galore in B'ham .Also bought a Lou Pride /Little Anthony off a guy in Wigan record bar who used to sell loads .They have a really distictive smell , don't they ? Also bought a crap copy of " Rosemary " -Popcorn Wylie off a guy at Kettering all - dayer in the mid 70's .The last one was a ten inch 4 tracker off Pep which had Dean Courtney [Mgm ] and Syng Mcgowan on as far as I remember . Also love the flip side to Richard Caiton's " I see love girl " on Caiburt , title is " I wonder will you always love me " . I love rocksteady , and can really recommend the new album by Bittie Mclean " on bond street " [ Peckings ] as it uses original backing tracks from Treasure Isle label, with new songs over the top , great version of David Ruffin's " Walk away from love " - but every track is a gem , to be honest .Best Wishes ,Eddie .

  21. I really liked a record I heard at Rugby on Sat ,played by Guy Hennigan titled " Soul Injection " or something like that ,blue label , wierd start , then a great modern - ish dancer , any idea what it was Chalky ? Best ,Eddie .

  23. Just received a promo of the excellent double CD of Brenda Holloway's Motown sides , but I can't believe " Crying Time "hasn't been included !! This must be her most in - demand side at the moment , and would probably have sold the set on it's own .Anyone got any idea why it's been left off the collection ? Best Wishes ,Eddie .
