Big thanks to the good folk at Ace / Kent for the new CD compiling material from Larry Banks , the famed New York arranger , obviously the big selling point will be the inclusion of the brilliant Milton Bennett " Whats one more lie " , but there's so much more, like the stunning big city ballads , in particular the 3 from Kenny Carter " You better get hip girl " [ a great song , transformed from a tambourine rattling Pied Piper production as recorded by Freddy Butler , into an awsome big voiced beater , " I can't stop laughing " which sounds like it was cut at the same session as " Showdown " , and lastly " Lights out " a wonderful version of the Zerban Hicks classic ender .Also great is the future Northern classic , " My life is no better " by The Dynamics , the fantastic beat ballad " Living in the land of heartache " by The Cavaliers , which is very Kenny Carter in style , the great stripped down outtake of Jaibi's " You got me " plus the flip side of that particular ' 45 " What good am I " .Highly recommended , Dave Godin would have been very proud .Best ,Eddie
