Record Jargonese
If you buy the issue , that'll give you nearly £90 towards a Sam Dees , wouldn't be too much more than that , I wouldn't have thought. If you get an issue or a UK Atlantic of Sam , the flip side is very good as well .Best,Eddie

Record Jargonese

Record Jargonese
Hello Linda , a demo copy is the copy that was send to radio ,DJ's etc , to promote the record before release .They are usually the same recording , but often have the same song both sides , sometimes in mono and stereo .They are very often white coloured labels , but not always .Sometimes if you stick out for the issued copy , you get a good B side as well .Pressings are bootlegs under a different name , you need a guide to know which records are bootleg/ pressings as some are vey similar to the original , Popcorn Wylie " Rosemary " for instance on Karen white demo .Reissue is another term , these are often UK issues of big Northern sounds , issued due to demand , often in the 70's . Acetate is another useful term , these are like a first test pressing or an unissued side , but because they are cut rather than pressed in the usuel way , they often wear out quickly .Right hope that helps a bit ......Best,Eddie

For Serious Collectors Only
Wonderful record ......

Where Do I Start?
Hi Linda good luck in your quest , if you're going to DJ then you'll probably need original vinyl in most cases , not saying this is right or wrong , just a fact .Buy what you enjoy yourself , only what you can afford , try and get a good mix of cheaper but great sides , mixed in with the harder to find sides . It will take years and you'll never get everything , but thats part of the magic I think .Try and listen to some collectors tapes /CD's of lesser known things and buy those as they often go up in value .And if you DJ just be your own person with your own identity .Good luck !! The Laffayette...wolverhampton
Great club Harpo , I was going out with a girl from Tipton at the time , we used to bring a car load up from Banbury on Tues . night still wrecked after Wigan . Remember seeing Richard Searling on there at an all dayer Wakefield Sun " Tripped on love " was his No 1 sound c/u .Bought a Gamble issue of Frankie Beverly for £25 off Clive Jones [ seemed like a fortune at the time , probably half a week's wage at the time ] .Great memories , double decked with Tabs from Banbury , and we stayed over at Neil Rushton's after a nighter at Derby Tiffs [ he slepted , we looked through his records !! ] Best,Eddie

What's The Best Soul Tape You've Ever Been Given?
Rob Marriott tapes were astoundingly good , also Ady Pountain , Binsy Taylor ,Ivor Jones , Rob Moss and John " Kipper " Kerr .I've learned so much from tapes , in fact I've still got a tape player in my car , still playing through them after all these years and discovering records I'd overlooked.Best,Eddie
