The original Mel Britt 45 has a slightly darker label , no white border and the run out groove stamp is in a different place to the bootleg .Sold mine in 1995 to the Frost brothers from Leicester , along with Bobby Kline and Kenny Wells .Seemed a good deal at the time , well the scene was dying wasn't it ..ouch ...

  8. I wish it was true , but no , that story is untrue .I had a London demo for many years ,which I won for £65 in auction from Tony Ellis in 1980 , but no issue copy .

Shocking news , I loved his radio show and his posts on here were always essential , informative reading .I never met him and always imagined him to be quite an elderly guy ,judging by his knowledge , sadly this wasn't the case .Rest in peace Bob , and thank you for your huge contribution to Soul music .....Eddie

  12. Bought Tony Hester - Watch Yourself [ Karate ] and Tobi Lark - Challenge My Love [ Topper ] for £3 each out of a box marked Northern Soul reissues at a record fair .Was so excited I left Sandra Phillips - World Without Sunshine issue behind ,also £3......
