Awful news , He influenced our listening and dancing pleasure to an immeasurable level , the ultimate record dealer and a man with great taste whether it was Rare Soul ,Funk ,Two Step / Rare Groove or Modern Soul New releases .We will never know anyone on that level again ,and he was such a modest and nice fella to talk too .Sleep well John and thank you for enriching my life from the 70’s until the present day x

I went to see Doris Troy live in Cheltenham about 1973 .It was supposed to be Major Lance ,but he didn’t turn up .Also spent a day with Dave Godin in 1974 in London ,and he had arranged for us to go and visit her in London ,but it fell through at the last minute .Rest in peace Doris ,and thank you for some great Soul music .

I think the Frank Wilson - Look Out Your window ,a cover or demo of a Four Tops album track is absolutely stunning , lyrically and musically .The Edwin Starr “ Pain of my loneliness “ is another stunner ,crying out to be played at a venue .

Sunset last Monday inside Rick Stein’s fish and chip shop on Fistral Beach ,Cornwall .....

A fabulous in depth article by Mark ,and several other highly respected patrons of The 100 Club .A visit to the 100 Club is always a highly anticipated and exciting event , on both a musical level ,as I know I will hear something new ,plus to see and chat with the many great friends I have made there .I will be there for the monumental 40th Anniversary this coming Saturday , many thanks to Ady and Randy for the initial idea , and the many DJ’s who have shared their Soul over the past 40 years .Ive often said that playing The 100 Club and spinning records on that famous stage is the Soul version of playing in a World Cup Final , such is the honour .Here’s to many more years of great Soul music and dancing under Oxford Street .

No that isn’t true at all regarding me having a Darrell Banks London issue .

I thought it was great ,all things considered ,some great footage and particularly the interviews with Holland - Dozier - Holland and Norman Whitfield .Great chemistry between Berry and Smokey as you would expect .Highly recommended .
