  1. A fabulous in depth article by Mark ,and several other highly respected patrons of The 100 Club .A visit to the 100 Club is always a highly anticipated and exciting event , on both a musical level ,as I know I will hear something new ,plus to see and chat with the many great friends I have made there .I will be there for the monumental 40th Anniversary this coming Saturday , many thanks to Ady and Randy for the initial idea , and the many DJ’s who have shared their Soul over the past 40 years .Ive often said that playing The 100 Club and spinning records on that famous stage is the Soul version of playing in a World Cup Final , such is the honour .Here’s to many more years of great Soul music and dancing under Oxford Street .
  2. No that isn’t true at all regarding me having a Darrell Banks London issue .
  3. I thought it was great ,all things considered ,some great footage and particularly the interviews with Holland - Dozier - Holland and Norman Whitfield .Great chemistry between Berry and Smokey as you would expect .Highly recommended .
  4. I think that’s a different song Sean ,with the same title .Different writers etc too .Cheers Eddie

  9. May 8th 1976 One of the best nights at The Casino

  13. I think it probably did help Pete Must have been one of Jackies last performances,as he went back to the States and fell into a coma ,from which he never recovered .
  14. Remember Junior Walker being great ,as was Edwin Starr and Archie Bell and The Drells .Also saw Gloria Jones ,think it was an anniversary as Marc Bolan was supposed to be there .I know I met Dave Godin again and he introduced me to Sharon Jones from Blues and Soul .Also saw Martha Reeves ,The Exciters ,Jackie Wilson ( we took a coach up from Banbury ,he wasn’t very good ) ,Tommy Hunt several times .The trouble was ,most of the acts used these uncomplimentary backing bands , which didn’t exactly enhance the singers , it wasn’t until Snake Davis came along in the Stafford era that things got better .
  15. Not very good ,from memory
