I remember pulling up opposite the venue and there was this kick-off going on between some locals,we waited a little until we thought it had calmed down.As we got close to the door a guy was shouting at the top of his voice "come on you fuckers i love it"what was bizzar this guy was covered in blood,i think he had been hit over the head with a bat,i was thinking maybe its time you went home, youve had your share for tonight.

  12. Over the years and very few and far i have always tried to listen to acappello and indeed the backing tracks of our songs. Now many years ago i remember telling Dave Withers and Tim Finch that i used to play certain 45s on minimum 33rpm or with a variable speed deck around 38rpm doing this used to give me a deeper dimension to the song.So before you all fall on the floor laughing and if you have a Wind Hit orig as i did, go get it and try it.Another chance to hear one of the greatest northern tracks of all time in a differant way.so with this new cd on the horizon(and thanks Mark for making us aware of its comming)its yet another chance to listen from yet another angle.I swopped a few e mails a couple of years ago i dont know what they must of thought when i told them i named my cat Hadley after Mr Marrell(lived till he was 19)the cat that is. Our beloved Chalky gave me a copy of thier last cd but that wasnt our scenes type of music, shame
  13. You'd be surprised just how many white guys were on a studio recording and i dont just mean in the string section.

  15. I remember going to at least one bank holiday event,i think Ron Ped still had that bandage on and i think that Bub was in such a mess they had to cut his spot short,or maybe got it wrong.
  16. Neither D Banks in the pocket or L Johnson unsatisfied London demos are that rare.I think the red and white stateside(not the green and white)demo on the D Banks are far harder to find
  17. Heres another one, How rare is William Amos Hunt, Would You Beleive, Camp. Same song as on us Streamside?
