  8. NO ONE TO LOVE no not that one,it is a sweet Motown thing I have on tape and always thought is there a vocal to this,i even wrote some lyrics out for my self, took me many years to discover its the backing to an LP track by Tommy Good of the same title.Brill. Already mentioned but if some one was to ask me to name an instrumental that is typical of the Detroit sound I would answer Never in a million years it just oozes with Detroit
  9. I used to play this in my limited dj career and always put it on tapes,so when Butch started playing Mr Lucky as j boone ithought how close the two records sounded
  10. Me and Tats found one for 30 cents in a garage in Detroit
  11. There is quite a few on Canadian labels.REO SPARTON, QUALITY.Some of the harder ones like Stienways on Sparton or Ben Aitken (satisfied) on Canadian Warner Bros as apposed to Loma (makes sense Loma were owned by WB )There is a lot of Detroit releases on Quality and if I remember correctly Reo housed a lot of Motown.
  12. POODLES STEP BY STEP Goes a bit quite at the end but still ends "wollop
  13. I think if you use Motown as an example just imagine what was taken into the Monday morning evaluation meeting,so many good products from each of the writers/producers and not all of them are gonna be voted as a potential hit, some have to fall by the wayside (remain in the can).I often think when I hear a previously unreleased song what the hell beat that on the day.I guess when it comes to the small companys money will be drained for them to take it a stage further.Great topic thou

  24. Yes Flynny old boy I to love this drummer he can be herd on many Harthon tracks, have been trying to find out who it is for some time, ive asked Earl Young but he hasn't replied on that as yet.Glad you like it too, respect
  25. Keb,having read your post Nicola and I are not that surprised, when this storm hit and the world found out about it I said two things about yourself if you were amongst this utter carnage you would if anyone come out of this ok under the circumstances, knowing you for a long time I knew that you would be helping others rather than yourself. Many years ago you gave me Buddy Smith that took some taking on board,it all seems small time in comparison to what you've been doing this last month or so.You are an inspiration to the human race Keb (wouldn't mind betting you will be the Mayor soon) your still welcome to have a bath round ours as always. We hope your post finds itself in a national news paper. You and your wife are top men(you know what I mean) Gilly and Nicola
