  1. He was the man who sang amongst the best lyrics any song has ever had, this one. don't care if hes white, so an I
  2. Used to collect versions of this song, don't remember how many I had but it was rather a lot, since those days I could of added another 20 easy
  3. I love every thing about Jamerson, just read the book on him by Dr Licks, great insight into a great man but sad was his ending
  4. Hi Russ, ive just bought 3 copies off Tim, they are a truly amazing read
  5. Yes i'm sure your right, I noticed his avatar on 2Facebook this afternoon. brill
  6. No mate, that was Edward Hamilton
  7. Andy, thank-you, I hold you, Tim, Roger Banks and Andy Dyson up there and way above me, your all more studious than myself but I can spell cat.
  8. Put this up on Tim's thread (coloured man)
  9. Yes mate after the Twirl 45 and before the first Impact release, both sang by Gerald Mathis taking the lead and fits nicely in with those BMI registration docs that have been put up today. Wait till I drop the bombshell on the Lollipops Group.
  10. Those are wicked, there for every ones enjoyment. Thank -you
  11. Yes it was Gerald Mathis on those two songs and Lady in Green was between Twirl and Impact contracts
  12. Andrew Tats Taylor and myself met Tony Johnson through B LaVette having been told he was a former member and lead singer of the Magnetics at a bar one night. He pissed on Tats shoe in the rest room, by accident. He was a lovely man and we spent time with him (some may of seen the footage we took of him singing in his car (real tear jerker stuff) and as a thankyou we took his sister out (she was at college in the UK) for the day on our return. As for Gerald Mathis I spoke to him in 1994 with John Kingham when in Detroit and was going to meet up with him but for some reason it didn't happen, I kick myself for that because he died a few years later. He was my favourite lead having sang "Same Old Feeling" too. To add a little bit about Robert being shot a couple of years after being in Prestatyn they have since caught the bastard that did it and it turns out shooting Robert wasn't the only bad thing he had done, he is now in jail, I hope you rot in there
  13. All very similar to a certain person interrupting the conversation we were having with Ann Bridgeforth on a Saturday afternoon at Cleggy Week-ender bearing in mind I and Tats had brought her into the limelight and hadn't seen her for a few years, this guy says "Ok Little Ann, Mr Levine is ready for you now" she replied, "Tell him he can wait, I'm talking with my friends"
  14. When I got to his house it would be late morning and after being there close to 2 hrs he got ready for work on the afternoon stint, had to pinch myself on the way out, had I really sat with Popcorn one side and Duke the other side.
  15. can you post it up or let me use it in the book, and credit you of course
  16. From you with your track history that's something, I'm about "Crying over You" thank-you Tim
  17. I'm aiming for Feb, that's all I can say to be honest, it can depend on graphics and printers time. DVD included of footage taken in Detroit 1990/1991 some you may of seen on YT
  18. Only if you ask nicely I wont, 1-500 all numbered
  19. I told him all of this but even with an offer to come and sing was of little interest to him, he was really fucked off with the music business, anyway that Andy Rix and that Tim Ashebende met enough of their own stars but i'm not jealous I met my fair share. Those two mentioned btw are real hero's within themselves, let me tell you. so much respect.
  20. Duke Browner was never happy at Motown, he wasn't allowed a free run. He took the Lollipops there who had a few VIP tunes and unreleased songs and they are rather good. A few people tried to ring Duke including me on several occasions but he didn't want to know, he turned is back on music and took a more regular job. I got round his house because Popcorn took me round, it was never gonna happen otherwise
  21. I went to Duke Barny Browners house in 1988 spent a couple of hours with him and got a few records too. Breaking news at the time he told me it was the Volumes in between contracts, some didn't believe me until proof was given when they sang at the Prestatyn Week-ender, then suddenly a few people became experts on the subject, that pissed me off. You can read this story and other stories when my book comes out in Feb 2019
  22. Tim Brown had my old one, don't know if he kept it or moved it on Ted
  23. Absolutely agree, I used to have a London demo, but could I get a red/white Stateside, the green and whites were easy
  24. Just wonderful Tim, I remember you meeting her, that voice was amazing and still rips me up. You have to laugh at these so-called talent winners and todays singing super stars (and no I don't know who they are) bet they wished they had half the voice she had, sometimes it just don't seem right. Again well done mate.
  25. Hi Ted, someone mentioned this Gillibrand to me before, it has nothing to do with me, I have never written on a record. Doesn't Ginger have one ?
