Jimmy London - Shake A Hand [randys]
Don't Keep the Children in the Dark (on Grounation) is nice 70s one. always thought he had a great voice, just not a huge fan of the lightweight backings, shame he wasn't around for Rocksteady, or at least could have sang over some tougher roots stuff, especially when you think of some of the other Clive Chin productions...

Jimmy London - Shake A Hand [randys]
sorry, don't have it, but sure i've seen it a fair few times on Impact which implies i didn't like it enough to buy! it's early 70s (71?), and probably a fairly mellow reggae version, but i honestly can't remember it at all. 'A Little Love' is probably my favourite Jimmy London track, although there's more than one recording, the sparser arrangement is better IIRC.

I Want This
Jody Williams was mostly a session guitarist, wish he'd cut more, because Little Girl is fantastic. he's on things like Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love'

Jimmy London - Shake A Hand [randys]
don't you mean Jimmy London? Randy's is the UK press, Impact the JA one

Search: Sugarpie Desanto Tracks
'Get To Steppin' is a slower, bluesy one, 'Do The Whoo-Pie' is the better side i think. personally am after one of hers on Veltone - #108, if anyone can help with a copy (#103 "I Want To Know" turns up all the time)

Strutt
i have a UK Brunswick promo (i think, would have to find it, has a red label anyway) with two different mixes of Time Moves On

A Couple Of Needs.........updated
stamper markings: A - How About You: CH-673-1 X-1595 B - Lonesome Shack: CH-673-2 X-1596 re: 80 for the boot - think it was bought in error hence buyer reselling it immediately (and not getting all their money back)

A Couple Of Needs.........updated
other way around, here is the boot: https://popsike.com/php/detaildata.php?itemnr=330145609476 has a very flat label, the shadow from a 'dip' in the label looks like it's just from the scan/photocopy, hopefully just a vinyl carver job with a printed label, since not seen any others appear yet (although that copy was sold twice on ebay, buyer immediately sold it on) - has anyone seen any others? the other copies on popsike appear to be originals, have dip in centre of label, rounded label edges, etc, like the one up at the moment. will look up the deadwax info tonight, unless someone beats me to it, but the label quality is enough of a clue...

Value (if Any) Please
Spidels is only a tenner or so, but a great record...
-
Jackie Shane
such a great record, everything's perfect - his voice, the lyrics, the guitar, the horns...
-
Record Packaging
good idea, but unfortunately a question only appears in the description if the seller chooses to display it...

Few Bits For Sale
who's playing the John Lee Hooker then? nice track but had no idea it was 'in demand'... picked one up at the Beanos sale a few months back
-
Tom Jones
similarly. it's not the early stuff recorded with Joe Meek is it? good Chills and Fever clip on youtube, complete with a few mods in the audience:

Tom Jones
in addition to those mentioned already, there's a good versions of Dr John's 'Right Place, Wrong Time', 'Mohair Sam', 'Venus', 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'See Saw', 'Hard to Handle'. plus the first side of the '13 Smash Hits' LP (aka 'Fever Zone' in the US) is all reasonable soul covers ('Get Ready', 'Hold On I'm Coming', etc). 'Hide and Seek', 'the Lonely One', and 'Looking Out My Window' still my favourites though...

Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady & Reggae 45´s
actually Jackie Opel got deported back to Barbados and then died in 1970 (the car crash was right) after helping invent 'spouge' music there

Seven Day Fool
if you don't fancy the CD single or download (!) it is on a 12" evidently, no idea if has had a UK release though...
-
King Coleman-black Bottom Blues
that's the best sleeve i've seen in ages!
-
R&b Wants
Hold Back the Tears says 'One More Try' on the label. you probably don't want the correctly pressed One More Try then, although it does have the odd fan here
-
Current Price And Availability Please
that boot was sold twice - i think the buyer bought it in error (hence the high price), and then resold it a month or two later. never seen another, so fingers crossed it was just a vinyl carver type with a printed label. an there was another (real) copy more recently, listed as Ernie Walsh, which now has found a very good home the boot: https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-r-b-ERNI...6QQcmdZViewItem (flat label, text goes almost to the edge)

Little Willie John
cymbals count as part of a drum kit! (oh, and it's a hi-hat not a ride cymbal cluttering up the spaces) had forgotten the guitar, but it's fairly subtle, unlike the drums
-
Little Willie John
i thought the only difference was the overdubbed drums on the later version?
-
Ken Boothe On B R A
think there was a discussion about the BRA lable before (probably over The Blues Busters), and there's at least one more on BRA with 'C. Dodd' on the label...

45 Sales - 60s Soul, Funk, R&b, Cheapies, Etc
Howard Tate is white with red 'A', the Verve company sleeve is quite stylish too...
-
45 Sales - 60s Soul, Funk, R&b, Cheapies, Etc
err, they're not CDs or DVDs, so no. unless the policy has changed - is it now no boots altogether? only that Dolores Ealy and the Charades are. Vampi Soul and Goldmine are supposedly legit, no idea on that 70s Cream one.
