    MC = moving coil, MM = moving magnet, some amps have inputs for both, get them mixed up and the input isn't matched correctly, without looking i think the moving coil is a lower input level, so the sound would be lower.

    Found some on flea bay, £35 buy it now. Cheaper than Lidl. Postage £8 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SilverCrest-turntable-wiht-USB-/161500554544 Bit better pic, the thing that worries me with this type of turntable is the cartridge /stylus set up and the fact you can't seem to alter the tracking weight. Has aux input as well so you could play a cassette deck through it to record to your PC from tape or some other input.

    Used to go most weeks back in the day, KGB dance studio, downstairs with a huge wooden sprung dancefloor, was run by Terry samson I think his name was, had a big frizzy afro like the hair bear bunch. Last time I had chance to look in it was a snooker hall and the newer named KGB soul nights were held further along the block in a much smaller premises, these were run by Barry Holland, I think he's a member on here, he could tell you more.

    None if the copy's like mine, it fades at the end, the abrupt breaks happen earlier than the end.

    When I bought my first system many many moons ago, it was recommended to get the best turntable I could afford, then build the rest of the system round that. So as phil has said, start with something decent like the technics a good cartridge and stylus, this then is a safe bet to protecting the records you have if set up correctly you can add to it as you wish then, even a budget amp & speakers will sound good with a decent front end set up. The choice is yours to what you spend on an amp, speakers, tuner, CD, etc and what you want from the system.

    On the odd occasion I DJ now, not very often I do play Gotta Have More Love, good news, I will be playing it next month. I put it in refosoul a while back.
