Carlis 'Sonny' Munro passed away early this morning at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit. He was the last of the great Falcons' lead singers that included Eddie Floyd and Wilson Pickett. His distinctive voice was featured on all the Detroit based Lupine and Big Wheel recordings, many of which he wrote with fellow Falcon James Gibson. He was a 'larger than life' character who spoke his mind yet was warm, friendly and charasmatic. He will be greatly missed by fans, family and friends.

This is terrible news. He attended Mike Terry's funeral only a few short months ago and looked in great shape. The last of the three (drumming) amigos has left us. What a legacy they left. Heartfelt sympathies and commiserations are extended to his friends and family. Another sad loss.

Sonny suffered a stroke on 27th February. He is currently under hospice care in Sinai - Grace hospital in Detroit. His family are keeping a day by day vigil at his bedside but are preparing for the worst.
