  2. sealed is a definite premium for collectors..i know some who keep two copies one sealed and one play copy......i had two copies of the Tempests one Stereo and one Mono.....i sold the Mono as it sounded dire on my very crap Amstrad stack at the time....is there any noticeable diff in the mix on a good system?
  3. ive got a red on black of Joes "Show me"/"Hold what you got "tracks with a diff numbering /issue series..mentioning the orig Dial cat no .. which is a reissue but it is Atlantic dist so must be pre 72 ?..as opposed to the first black on red one i posted which is orig 66...guess i like Joe Tex

  7. I sometimes see the name on Chicago 45s...(e.g Lil Gray on Jerma)..also some Onderful/Marvulus labels (i seem to remember)...anybody have any info ?
  8. ive always suspected that the Jayboy 45 was recorded in the UK during one of their tours...anybody know...?...i think its UK only.?....and whoever pinged the centre .........grrr
  9. wouldnt mind hearing that Chalkie.........on a tangent........i remember John Anderson having some test presses of alternate takes of Onderful/Marvelus tunes.....one of which was the Accents "ive got to think again"....which i heard at a West Midlands do....i couldnt prise it off the DJ....anybody know anything about these?
  10. this reminds me of a list i got from a bloke in Liverpool late 80ts which had a Peacock test press of IHAGT which was advertised as a different take......i had first refusal if his mate didnt want it (which of course he did )......always wondered what it sounded like....

My second all time fav group after the Impressions....I was going to ask Curtis about them when we met him but didnt have the nerve in case he got annoyed..(competition)...is there any footage available of them singing "get on up"...?...it was a sizeable hit.......(and a big Wheel. tune)...also how many of their songs did Mill Edwards (Evans) take the lead on.......to my ears theres "Everybodys laughing" /"When im ready"/"Things wont be the same"...one line in the middle of "And get away".....is Mill still alive?

  24. one i always remember is the version of Chuck Jackson "Hand it over" on the Kent "Club Soul" LP..not advertised as being unreleased...but it sure is different to the 45....(different lyrics)...when i asked Ady...he couldnt remember if its a previously unreleased version or an orig LP take....
