Johnny Pate's productions were super....heavy beat..booming brass.....strings and things...Impressions/Marvelows/Trends.and many others...he was the man.....
now that Fads track is very rare on Blue Rock..i think the last issue before.the pause in releases .i had to trade my Mercury demo to get another 45...post "the problem is"......thats a tune
in the "Fever" vein...Loma is a road in LA so it could be a coincidence....sounds early 60ts...HB Barnum involvement....didnt this come out on another label.?.......love the vocals
Blinky Williams?...maybe a bit sweet but she could sing in more than one style...and there is known to be a fair bit of unreleased stuff by her at Motown...the arrangement/instrumentation sounds late 60ts too.....
does anyone know if the Elloma label (Dolores Gibson "i got a feeling") was associated with or a precursor to the Loma label ?(both distributed by Warner Bros)
i think ive mentioned this before.....Reggie La Mont aka Karl Tarleton ("along came you " on Uni)....who also wrote (among others.."why why why" Mill Evans/Otis Leaville..he was a very talented artist..
