  1. great 45 i first heard via a Derek Pearson tape...took me ages to get one...which was via Soul Source a couple of years ago.....
  2. and then theres the dog barking......which you cant hear on the boot.......

Keele was a super niter....lively record bar (which was close to the bar)...great dancefloor ...didnt the students do the bar?.....i remember the tipple was pints of Scrumpy Jack..which along with everything else was v hectic.....in the days when the bar closed relatively early...a mate ..Big Les from Trent Vale...used to secrete stocks of SJ all over the building.....on one occasion at the front...in between dances he reached inside a speaker and produced a full pint at 6-30 am......(warm...but thats dedication)...remember the al fresco seats outside in that alcove/balcony on the left during the summer months?...the waft of herbal tobacco.....the tunes in the background...the insane chatter.......just marvellous.....

  5. i seem to recall he drank it standing on his head (very impressive).....the label design suggested was black paper with a yellow bulb logo.....(Dave Alcock was going to design it...artistic chap that he was)...happy days
  6. is there a connection between the writers of IGSG..."Dandridge-Weems"...and the Dontells....notably "in your heart" ..and the flip....both Chicago tunes?
  7. a marvellous 45....... ....i had this on my wall for years as i was assured it didnt play...years of fag smoke and dodgy central heating.......and hey presto ...it played.....6 months later i sat on it and it cracked....a bit of sellotape......and it still plays great.......thats what i call a free 45 (Nick Marshall)........what a great label design..........

  12. still got that one you sold me Seb......the lp came out as a budget UK release as well......it always baffled me that it didnt get a 45 release.other than Sweden....when the orig lp was called "Sweet Things"
  13. does anyone know why Carla released two instrumental backing tracks originally .....when there were two vocal versions recorded?......always baffled me......
  14. as far as i know the flip ......vocal version of "like a rolling stone" has never been released anywhere else .before or since.....real nice it is too......
