ive always wondered about the Incredibles/Carl Gilbert...has anyone ever seen an Incredibles ISSUE that plays Carl Gilbert..(like the vinyl demo)..............ive never seen one (maybe a green label)?
i bought both first black then yellow when i noticed it was nearly a minute longer...i was pleased when i got it as it seemed a different take....added flute etc........conjecturing that these were recorded at the same time........lovely sweet soul..........but cant really add anything......different addresses too
thats interesting........i seem to recall the reissued Kenard WDYGBT was different (shorter) than the orig.....which may explain the date difference.or not.lol
ive found another one...following on from Brenda + Tabs "hey girl"..on Dionn.....and Arthur Alexander hits reissue on Dot........ive now found Smokey and fabulous Blades "jek baby jerk" on the black reissue retains the orig matrix from late 64 ..delta 55024...
i used to share with Nick Marshall a Christmas Soul Pack from John for years..he would theme them at your request..how about that...i think he got a kick out of doing it.......very knowledgeable and a nice bloke...condolences to his family...RIP John.........
i dont know if ive ever mentioned this 45...the A side is a rare and expensive funk track...presumably HG didnt have a b side so dusted off his backing track to Willie Hatchers "good things come to those who wait" on Columbia......put an organ on top (Dave Alcock always used to say Reginald Dixon which made me laff)....and called it Soul Groovin....just thought id share the info if not known
the flip of D1012 is "Don,t ever leave me " and is a girl lead lovely mid-tempo tune...........its on You tube...this is a nice 45 both sides...the label design on mine is same as the black and silver 1011
