  1. there was a small thread on SoulTalk about George Semper a while back..this was probably co-written by Walter Scott(of Bob Kuban fame) after he moved to LA...anyone know how an LA tune (?)came to be issued on Chess..with that name?...great Stafford tune
  2. ive mentioned it before...but heres the Del Satins/Checkerboard Squares GREEN vinyl boot/ concoction...i didnt buy Dave Alcocks yellow vinyl one..anyone know who bought it?...anyone else got a colored vinyl of this?......if not i claim a share of the prize for rarest boot.....

  6. ive got a few warped 45s...that play ok....ive often thought of trying these flattening techniques....for example ...would you try flattening this ...(if it played ok..with extra grams on arm..(no jokes please) ?

Little Anthony +Imperials are THE top drawer on the East Coast Doo- Wop Oldies circuit....my doo-wop friends tell me they are brilliant...a recent package had them on the same bill as Gene Chandler.......it you could get them it would be super......(and they could smuggle Sonny Turner of the Platters in!)
  23. thanks for an insight into the creative process Ray... ...did you do session work for producers such as George Kerr and Jerry Ross as well as your own productions....?......Vivian Copelands "Key in the mailbox" on D'Oro was produced by George Kerr...a similar version was recorded by Susan Phillips on All Platinum....(theres a clip on the sites Refosoul feature)...the male backing vocals sound like the Moments to me.......what do you think?...Cheers Jim
