  1. the Motownopoly game came with a free CD..(a few hits)...i got a couple for friends a few years ago...my favorite was a Community Chest/Chance card which said.... "pay a $10 fine or do the Watusi" .....i vaguely remember reading a while back...that these games were on sale at the Motown museum in Detroit once
  2. Lost Soul "secret of mine"..........
  3. Oops yes getting my Crazys mixed up....Grave yard creep sounds the same....i would imagine the Spindletop group and the Ascots to be the same line up (Talmadge Armstrong and James Duhon on both)...but i dont know as fact
  4. JS-810 James Duhon- Grave Yard Creep / Color Me Soul (b-side is Talmadge Armstrong)...........can anyone confirm these are the same recording/take as on the Ascots Crazy Horse LP....?...Ta:)

  6. where does this fit in ?...flip of "sugar coated love".......
  7. it would have to include the premium put on "still sealed" copies of desirable Soul US lps...50% at least?...(its the same in other genres)...check out the prices of "still sealed"60ts Impressions US lps on Popsike....
  8. ive still got mine.......number 88...that was when the oldies room was downstairs (Brunswick suite?)...didnt the cloakroom double as the membership office?

  11. Record collectors tale....i had this on a tape from Mark Dobson in 92...c'u as "Hopes and Dreams" (no artist)....a few years back while scouting on Gemm...this was listed...as "rock/soul"....Ohio band...it wasnt very much ($10)...so i thought i'd take a chance...i was chuffed when i got it and played it....an enquiry to the dealer sprang another copy...i sold one at the Frobisher for £80...and kept the other...the one i sold was like the e bay one....the one i kept has a distributor stamp./plg side stamp. At the time i did some research and the 45 is mentioned on one of the Ohio Rock/Soul sites...cant remember which...

  16. very sad news...his contribution to the knowledge of Record collecting in general and Soul Music in particular was immense...whether it was editing Fanzines....organising and promoting Events.../Record Fairs...Radio shows......he did it all........condolences to his family..he will be greatly missed. RIP Chris.....

  21. i was looking at https://uk.ebid.net/ which seems well put together.......anyone had any experience of it?.......there seems to be a lack of sellers tho....
  22. The LP is called Out of Sight.....the soundtrack to an apparently forgettable 1966 spy spoof/beach movie....the Dobie Gray track comes in at 3 mins 15sec.....as compared to the Charger 2 mins 45sec 45.....everythings slightly elongated...with a nifty finish which nails it as being diff.....this is a British one...which has no sleeve..(i suspect it may not have got a proper UK release )....The label suggests American Decca...this is out of Dave Alcocks collection.....i havent got round to selling it for his family yet....a rarity for sure....ive scanned some interesting info....
  23. great tune.......whats the price differential between issue and demo....?.......also ..has anyone managed to dance to the other side...(i just sit and steam)........(and dream of a masked shrike by Westport Lake...... )
  24. yes ive got this........seems worse in changeable weather....Menieres syndrome is often diagnosed...but its usually Benign Positional Vertigo...(dizzyness often with tinnitus).......you can get a masker...which does work to an extent.....best is a hearing aid.....which helps with the tinnitus even if your hearing isnt that bad....go to local ENT clinic....
  25. whats the circumstances behind that Pete?
