  3. Sometimes, clearing the floor can be down to programming in a set, following UBP wth Sam Fletcher perhaps, whi9ch I've heard out! its not a s bad as it used to be be but there's plenty of times when track dont work cause the Dj's not considered how they fit into the flow of a set.
  4. i was talking about the same thing this weekend, its the same as cdj's, I know it sounds ridiculous, but I work totally visually with tunes, titles and names, particularly with the 12's, mean little to me, its where it is in the box, what colour the label is ect that helps me to locate things.
  5. a fair veiw dave, i just meant its not about naming dj's its about the ethics of playing cd's opposedto ovo.
  6. I've heard about plenty know DJ's doing this in the last few years but it gets pretty heavy if we name and shame on here, and thats not what this thread is about is it? and is playing from a laptop any worse than playing grapevine or a 2nd issue of the salvidors, when your tunes are on video camera, in front of say a thousand people?
  7. Bit late in posting this but there a fair few things I'd not played before so I thought it was worth while posting a few of my spins. 9. Gets some bad press and is pretty unfashionable right now but acts like the heavies, young disciples ect flew the flag for street soul when there was not a lot else around. Saw many Acid Jazz acts back in the day and most were sensational, Corduroy, mother earth and the amazing Galliano, who were undoubtable the best live act I've ever seen.
  10. some of the best bargain tunes I've ever had from here come from Andy, tip top seller imho.
  11. I went down there about that time, Gusto- disco's revenge was the big pre track, and it was pretty awsome. hot summers nights by the lock. and Norman Jay was the guest!
  12. technics 1200's are cheaper than the've ever been, most relieble and iconic brand, that still sets the standards.
  13. I pride myself on my ignorance of most contempory, mainstream, music, although I take an interest in all leftfeild music types and try to get a fix of what might may interest me via radio 6.
  14. its just lazy btards who cant be arsed carrying an album box isnt it? Casnt understand why anyone would go for a re- edit on a 7, thats so backwards looking, 12 inch pressing have loads better quality sound too.
  15. does Curtis beat mix from vinyl or cd? I'm assuming Cd, or mps? same thing basically.
  16. Golly that looks cool, all beatiful people too, better than us ugly trall this side of the channel.
  17. interesting to hear them talking about Race unity @ Chris hill's jazz funk do's. I've hear Norman Jay say him and his mates used to get knocked back regualy due to their ethnicity.
  18. des, upper links not working on this one, can you fix it?
  19. fair piont Dave, I thought about it myself and commitments I have, i realise its not always possible to keep it up over a long period of time.
  20. its fairly good, but like most exhultated due to its obscurity.
