  2. I'm with you there Dave but almost darn't say it here, there some fanytastic stuff from the early 9ts and late 8ts, I'm spending on this stuff now while its stil dirt cheap, found some ace stuff in the last few months.

  4. A great starting place would be looking at a copy of the Northern soul top 500 book, I'm sure you'll find a host of tunes that have made in since the 'heyday'
  5. I did here a few grt island spins I didnt know at pow wow recently, but its not a northern night really.

  8. saw a few guys who could really shuffle in the 8ts, at Bradford, but dont think I've seen anyone do it that well in years and years, these guys looked like they were floating!and know it wasnt the talc I was using that night, lol.

  14. I found a few other of the same guy at a record fair, lots of philly stuff, lou rawls ect, with nice photo's on the covers, just nice things to have.

  16. no worries mate, its a tune in common parlance really, your certainly not the first to use it. its just one of those phrases that when you think about it............ The only tunes on my walls aint rare really, I've a load of beatn up singles on the door, just for decoration. A robert owens tune, with his autograph, and little anthony's - going out of my head on uk, framed with its sheet music, looks great with the legend, randazzo/ pike in the background. oh and one other, the hip pocket version of, apple peaches....... in a frame, everyone likes looking at a 3 inch flexi, dont they? lol

I find that term trophy records a bit tricky really, tropies are won or earned, butch getting hold of the first Mello souls in the states when us travel wasnt common place and we had no net for contacts, thats a trophy. some guy spending 2K on Al Williams out of his redundancy- thats sad really, just what is it a trophy of?

  24. I actually was going to say, they sound different in the 100 club! LOL, That place does hold a certain magic, and the tunes were talking about hold special meaning there for me. Outside that venue it just didnt work in the same way.
  25. forgot about mr Clarke, you know I've heard so many guys I respect on the scene say they really rate clarky as one of the best and most inovative Dj's ever.
