  4. saw a movie on sat, 'weekender' about manchester in 1990, thought this might be good, and it was just sooooo wrong. everyone's bone dry in the club scenes, really spoilt it for me and I lost interest after that.
  5. off topic i know but when are the earliest wigan tapes from? do they go right back to the start?
  6. from my memories of record bars in the 8ts and 9ts little british was seen for sale and it held little interest for the young collectors i knew from back then. maybe its a tainted view but thats how it came across to me.
  7. todays pick, my third stab at this, robert owens martha wash.
  8. is that an insult considering who murphs and his tones were?
  9. Christ almighty what at on about lad! sorry its Eddie Kendricks and Rochelle Flemming today.

Anyhow's here goes for my set, as always a blend of latin, r and b, funk and straight ahead northern, stopping at a few ports in between the afore mentioned styles. Black Sugar- Too late Royal Jesters- That girl Romeos- Mon petite chow Stone Fox band- Down in a hole Magnificent men- I got news fidels- What is soul? Louis Curry- I'll try again tommorow Earl Gaines- For what its worth Fats Domino- Sick and tired PW Canno- Hey hey Mel Houston- Ball of confusion Frankie Dante- Do you thang Shirley Brown- Yes sir brother Point Dume Boys- Hey, in the water
  22. think its a common misconception there's loads going on in stoke, several, local stokal's have stuggled to sustain any momentum in the last couple of tears. basically there's shite all work and money in this once industious city. not knocking anyone who does try, its just as mr neville put it, 'a hard nut to crack'.
