    just trying to make a point about how commercial sounding many of the songs from that era were, Betty Swan should of been a hit when it was released.

    tis all to easy to forget the context, Four v's was played alongside this, Linda Lloyd, betty swan, Spinners- 'dont want to fall...' even Nolan Porter, lots of commercial sounding tunes around at the time as the scene became, ahem reinvigorated. Most I loved at the time, some sound shite now, but at least there were fresh plays in the main room.

    the mentality of hip hop diggers is so different, for them its all about the groove, collectability often doesn't figure.

    not heard the most positive things, was told he's being taken to court over one of these packs.

    What I find interesting is how many after that Irma Routen? 10, 20, maybe 50 worldwide? you'd think they'd be a copy out there for everyone who wanted one really, at a decent price!

    not many returnees buying oldies in the early 9ts at all, the demand was for current sounds back then, imho.

    big difference between buying in the 8ts compared to now was there were no guides or pop sike, you used to get people flogging boots as the real deal and (less often) vise versa. finding out what was what as a young collector was tough, often the guys selling didnt have a clue either.

    just wondered if the danny moore would even go today if found as new discovery? still love it myself, whatever the price, but its well out of place with the current sound imho. incidentally how many DM's actually turned up? I'm thinking just a couple of hundred, highlighting just how small a market NS actually is.

    national express from london to, bradford or blackburn was a regular grueller, it stopped at nelson, colne and god knows where else and took forever.

    psml, i met a record dealer who specialises in freakbeat who told me a woeful tale of selling one at a record fair for a pitance years ago.

    hiya dave, haven't managed to me yet, but I'm sure I was at this one, moved down to london in 87. top nighter, can always remember timmy mallett being on the big screen tv during the last couple of hours- we were the wide awake club! does that mean you've lopped your burns then? next you'll be telling me you've shaved your tash off!

    was wondering that myself, christ for what was considered a bit of an oldies nighter at the time the music sounds pretty progressive by todays standards.
