  1. well said, with that sentiment, spot on
  2. provenance comes with owning a one off acetate, of an unreleased tune, making a copy, another acetate, allows a dj to play the record out to the public, without damaging the only existing original recording. imho this is perfectly legitimate and totally practical, whilst still maintaining our mythical, underground credibility ethic. - so there! LOL.
  3. thought this might be of interest, Jack white has done more for the music industry than a host of wannabe Ganstas
  4. fair point plenty funky things that I'm sure wont sound great in a few years time
  5. all the shite wasn't just played at wigan and the mecca then

  9. I've played this out over the last few years, also spun on new years eve at diff strokes by mr Haydon, I think, seems to be rising in demand again.
  10. that's ace, proper, northern could have been played any era
  11. personally I can see why certain boots would be collectable, they show the culture of the scene, albeit a perhaps negative aspect. and have their own intrintic value as artefacts. I have Zepplin 1 on a Usssr issue in a cheaply made printed paper sleeve, illegal at the time and not official, but to me infinitely more desirable than a standard UK issue, even with the 'blue atlantic badge'. worth less monetarily but in terms of relevance more important imho. However its also an intrinsic part of NS culture that you ALWAYS play OVO, and that as always should stand, regardless of the cultural credibility of bootlegs.

  22. anyone know a female version of the track by teddy P? I've hears it on a soul spectrum mixcloud thing. any help appreciated. another from the same mix is a cover of date with the rain, don't think its the other version I've heard knocking around any help of this one?
  23. are we questioning authenticity here? for a start that looks like marker pen, felt tip, were they around in the 6ts? no acetate I've ever seen from the era use them.
  24. yeah know what you mean about the banjo, but could be just a guitar with a weird open tuning or a didldy bo. love xylophones too, one of the distinctive things I remember about hearing my first northern sounds after been raised on a diet of rock guitar as a kid I thought that sounds really weird, think it was 'what' the xylophones really got me hooked.
  25. vanda has indeed mentioned it, who I hope will be out dancing and prancing this weekend. Know go-go as well, but not rob berry.
