  1. Crack on ng underplayed dancer.
  2. At least we agree about one thing mate, Hurst is an insult to artists.
  3. so the most collectable and highly valued 'Warhols's' are his prints, which is the point I was making. Think its fair to say he's most famous for his print work as well.
  4. Andy Warhol was primarly a print maker! and did very little painting, so pretty much all of the warhol's in Galleries are prints, LOL.
  5. Really don't think you do get, what many mean on here mean, in relation to collecting. It's about chasing sounds, for what's in the grooves, not because it's on a UK demo. Looking for something that's not known to many, invariably comes in its original format. At has always been about chasing cool, and unknown records, to cherish and hopefully share, that's what had driven up till it's death a few years back, I say that last bit with tongue firmly in cheek, the scene's epitaph has yet to be written.
  6. Remember getting the pressing in the eighties, probably from robs smiths 50p box and thinking wtf has this got to do with Northern soul, a sentiment I still agree with, tis truly awful.
  7. You didn't say that too me when you sold me a copy in aflex rod. If you you had a mint demo of 'You don't want me no more" for the same price, I was uming and ring over. I've had loads of chances to get Nolan since but Mr Lance has since shot out of my reach. I quite like Three Dog Night anyway.
  8. Er, just like the art world, them.
  9. The reason I asked, it was requested at a local soul night I did last week and it's a massive record at these kind of do's to this day, as our a few others that weren't massive at the big three venues. Unfortunately 'tribute' falls into that category too.
  10. I'm sue it was known as a new release by avent soul collectors but did it get played at any major venue. Its not that common on probe is it?
  11. Just wondered, when where and who played this track first. I can remember it being massive around the milleniun but don't recall it as a known tune in the eighties.
  12. Adam topping and killer were the first I heard play. AND it's Awsome!
  13. Gutted by this news. I was wondering how he was doing, and having heard he was ill a few years back. Had the pleasure of seeing him djing at Hq in the mid nineties, he was shit hot technically and with a taste and insight to be rivaled by only the American originators. Sadly at the moment he contribution is understated.
  14. Big spin for a certain Mr jez Jones at change about 10 years back.
  15. He spells it wrong, should be slowly moulding.
  16. Ojays everytime! If the Ojays did a version of gan gam style, it would be good.
  17. Nothing that's shocks too much, this time for me. Anyone the Dr Z?
  18. Two great fresh discoveries there. If there's any justice they both deserve to go really big.
  19. New Jersey and connection is brilliant and perhaps, ironically, ripe for upfront northern dance floors.
  20. OK fair point, I understand your perspective, hope you get mine. I apologise for any offence but I think that's how anyone with Northern nounce would se it. Atb. I geese.
  21. Must be great hearing a track like that for the first time, but for most of us it's absolutely hammered to the point that the nails are coming out the other side. I most certainly not what you'd travel a distance to hear. Seriously I would I thought it's a 'most likely heard" down your grab a gran or grandad with trilby an Fred perry night. Really don't mean to sound arrogant but I'm surprised anyone who's found this site hasn't heard it, esp if from the UK.
  22. A counter point would be my recollection of attending Burnley about 10 years ago, for context burnley was renowned as one of the best upfront nights around. A dj played "a little togetherness". an the two dj"s, I was with, both well Know on the scene. said "that's the final straw I were not driving up here to listen to this". I think just about every track played that night wouldn't scrape the top 1000 but they were both really pissed of about the younghearts. And to be honest I wasn't impressed myself.
  23. Have to say I can't it changing a thing, too many couldn't care a less, the're in the majority, those who do are not. The ethics of the scene have been exchanged for a kiss me quick hat, to cover the bald plate"s.
  24. Not been out a great deal of late but I'd have to over recent years Dave Thorley Sean Haydon Doctor pickles, even though I'm not a big r and b fan, lol.
