  4. I reckon someone would have paid a considerable amount of cash for Russ's copy of Soussan's acetate on memorability value alone . Certainly not the kind of cash that has been paid for a real one though.
  5. This is England was ITV wasnt it Chris?
  6. have to say, considering this is all about the photo's, I'm not that impressed. They kept showing the same few shots and I don't see anything that the average punter wouldn't have captured. There's no reportage and its not really that creative IMHO, especially considering the significance of the event.
  7. Surely this isn't the only lacquer manufacturer?
  8. Just seen a list with this on it, I must admit I'd not heard before. Apparently released in the same month as the stones satisfaction. Which came first then? Was this the inspiration/plageristic source for Mick an keef? .
  9. Bout a thousand times better imho.
  10. seriously, nowadays? thought the handbaggers were over that thing by now. Hate to be negative, but its an awful record, IMHO. Id sooner have, the snake ect.
  11. Russ seems free to exaderate at will. '10 thousand soulies a week'. '4 million'. Shoddy journalism.
  12. For me one of THE Voices of soulful House a sad loss. His tone was epic and his power and range unbelievable.
  13. Watch the movie again this week and noted when they take the pee out of some who had won a dance championship. Was it viewed with the same disdain that me and my mates reserved for PA's at raves, I wonder?
  14. Thing is, it could be so different than the current sad state of Affairs; If there was just a couple of established venues that genuinely embraced the breadth of progressive side of the music. If think it would soon build a real culture and attitude that would go towards giving the scene some dignity back. Trouble is the upfront 60's crowd in the main now come from a mod/ scooter background and frequently despise anything made after 1969. The modern, soulful House lot, can't stand r and b that sounds like rock and roll. I could go on with further examples. There just doesn't seem many punters ready to tolerate other attitudes and open there ears to what's out there. It's a real dam shame. I blame the internet and baggy trousers.
  15. Thanks, that's really insightful. Much abliged.n
  16. Betty is good but Dean is awesome. Not in the same league, imho. Seen Betty come up for sale frequently at £350 in the past, can't sat the same about DC.

  19. Personally I'd prefer to see to some young people doing there own thing. Following a tradition of youth culture.
  20. Very well articulated Paul. It's not just the contemporary media to blame either, the media incompetence is historical.
  21. Quality, I here so much new stuff that is light weight, they have real depth, are they touring?
