I've had a couple of acetates of soul classics before, I had a ' I'm your puppet' and been told there not worth much more than a standard issue. Nowadays though bit of clever speil and who knows? Bet Manship could get a pretty penny, some of them do look asthetically attractive and they certainly seem authentic.

Had a boot in the 80's seem to remember it as pretty pitted on the label. Went for the blue one, just to be certain when I re- purchased.

I swore blind I heard this tune at the last Burnley, same backing track as 25 miles, different vocal. forgot about it until recently. I've been playing a few albums of late and came across this by Mr Pickett. Released in 67, two years before Edwin, it certainly has the same instrumental hook, but the reference to numbers in Pickett's tune make it so similar to me. Can't have been a coincidence, surely?

Hope it's better than 'ray' and ' get on up', both awful, but I've not got high expectations.

Rod shard used to have an acetate on the wall at his stall, told me it was the vocal, I bit, ' is it?' rod, I was young and daft. Nevertheless, the instrumental still hits the spot everytime. Always wanted a demo, if anyone has one?

Heard some say they tired of hearing this at station road. I never tire of it, Think I played it, about 7 times in a row once. Not from an original copy unfortunately..

Surely this fits the bill. Basically the acid jazz guys just tried to recreate this sound. So much like JK it's unreal.

Really sits in the middle of funk and soul this album.

Can't see what this is if not rare groove. Hard one to pigeonhole this one, but it certainly grooves'.

Back in 87 or so I used to see these boxes of ' rare grooves' on markets and shops around london. Usually full of JB related stuff and hot wax, if you were lucky a jackson sisters. The term as you say is constantly revised.

Pleasure- joyous, on fantasy is a great example of the genre, if you can call the term that .
