There's a major Lance tune that's really similar to all three, can never recall the title, probably Curtis penned anyway.

Guest DJ Tim Ashibende - Follow the music NOT the Crowd
Been looking forward to this one for a while. Tim's collection is legend round these parts as are his digging exploits in the states. Anticipating some serious rarities and an equisite taste in soul.

Passionetts on jm’s
It's not about the vocal performance for me, but this is a pretty average song. You might say 'good flip', if it was the b side to uptempo stormer, but that's it. A really good example of a tune that would never get deck time if it wasn't rare, can't see it exciting dancers anywhere.

Labels missing
Finding a paper match could be difficult. Think I could spot the difference between a Lazer copied print and the traditional method pretty easy, unless monochrome, that would be harder to spot.

Everything You Need to Know About N,S,and Venetta Fields
Those garage records were a reaction to the British invasion, which was in turn inspired, American rhythm and blues. Truth be told, musical influences know no race Boundaries, black musicians have accepted western European influences as have white musicians of African.

Totally agree, on this occasion though the writer comes across as an unknowledgeable arse!

Everything You Need to Know About N,S,and Venetta Fields
Not heard Ian before but I'd assumed this was written by someone with English as a second language. Not sure I've read such disjointed, awkward writing online in some time. Best you can say is that some of it is factually accurate. To think the writer has been paid to write the tripe, staggers me, discogs, I expect better.

Kenny Shepherd how to spot a fake
Not 💯 on that that must be an octave in pitch difference, though the vocal delivery style is similar.

Kenny Shepherd how to spot a fake
It hasn't got a printed Label, the ink is printed directly onto the styrene, as with some of the big top releases.

Selling a c/u question?
I too was pondering this with a certain cover up. If it's unknown, it certainly not been searched for in the way the say, the salvadors, has for, in that case 35 years or so. The thought of count boxes sitting in a warehouse is scary and off putting.

Ripple blast singers-vocalist?
Not certain but there it is something similar in the voices, great artist, jimmy bailey as evidenced on this lovely ballad, it's the closest I can currently find to connect the voice. Jimmy seems to have been struggling commercially around '68 when funny girl was recorded? I'm assuming it would have been hot on the heels of the movie to cash in, possibly early 69. He had just one release on calla and one on Mala in '68 so perhaps he was sessioning, I can imagine with he would have been in demand with his range and versatility.

Ripple blast singers-vocalist?
He's a bit of a 'rent a voice' very versatile indeed, just wish I could find a recording where he's singing in that tenor style, like a smokey or Marvin Smith, as in Sadie, I'm sure he was capable of it, still exploring his repetiour ATM.

Ripple blast singers-vocalist?
JR bailey is a good call and thanks for the hard work, you got further than me. It could be JR, but on most of his material it seems like he was 'doing Marvin Gaye'. Sounds like he has a fantastic range but can't find an example where the vocal styles are similar enough to compare. So I reckon JR is a potential vocalist but I'm not convinced. Be interesting to what others think tho.
