I was heavily involved with 'oldskool house' events. It just hold attraction for me any longer. It literally is the top 50 house records over and over. It just seems like a big cynical cash grab.
Stopped drinking brandy last week, possibly the DT's. Funny thing is, I'll concede, but I'm still not convinced, I can see the grainy scan on an old list, in my mind. Might book a holiday in Athens and get digging .
Apologies folk, think both our memories are addled. Maybe you're right and I'm just confusing with Frankie Beverly, I do find it odd that we both confused the two and and chubby is a Philly record, though. I'll file my copy next to my Trends album then.
I'm doubting myself now, could have been Frankie Beverly, but I'm sure John manship would remember, it was his top auction item at the time. Seems to be a philly connection with the other top ten release's. Searched but can't a scan myself.
The Greek top ten,may well have been an issue, think they have white stock copies on that label, I can definitely remember it on the front of a manship list, early 2000's.
USA and Canada have been fine but Europe a nightmare! Just end up refunding and recieving the record returned months later on sales. Purchases take ages to arrive.
It is, and isn't relevant but let's stick to the thing about bands; I agree, it might be personally distasteful to some but I wouldn't begrudge any musician a gig. There was plenty British bands playing soul covers in the 60's. As an interesting side, was snake Davis the first guy to do the 'northern live' thing? or was there UK bands around in the 70's playing Northern live, did Nosmo or Wigans ovation tour? Or was it just studio based.
For someone who 'dont know, don't care' your spending a lot of time looking at this thread. What's that called? Er trolling I think? , And any other light hearted emoji out there. .
Wonderful insight, go post a pic of thee Sen holding a pint, with a hat on and pointing, on Facebook, there not enough of that and far too much of discussion about music on here! . Feeling a little facetious myself this morning.
