  1. Atmosphere is key, don't mean to be oblique. But it's a combination of everything from the list, great venue half full or shit pit, rammed to the gunnels?
  2. Two great sides, a label that seems to know it's market and has consistently released quality tunes.
  3. Horrible, just wonder where the audience is for this, can't imagine it making radio 2, cheesy soul oldie's nights, I doubt it, you're more likely to fill the floor with Dina Carroll or an early 2000's pop house record. Who's going to buy it?
  4. The basement of Camden record and tape exchange was amazing. Thousands of 45's, used to pick up loads of UK Motown and exchange it with minshull for imports, around 87/88
  5. Quite a few artists it seems, but they are all abismall https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-official-top-40-best-selling-cassette-albums-of-2022__38206/
  6. Tim A told me he bought the first copy from a girl at a dayer late 70's.
  7. I think supertime was speed up for the bootleg pictured above
  8. Sounds a little middle of the road to these ears, struggling to hear the soul in this release. Singer puts me in mind of Gilbert O'Sullivan.
  9. About sums it up, if I was listening to that to see if I'd buy at a car boot it wouldn't get past the ten second mark.
  10. Alex is my favourite artist, he also covered, good night Irene.
  11. Heard some great things about this nighter.
  12. You can hear that. I think that muddy album got slated by the traditionalist fans at the times, but possibly went on to inspire a genre
  13. My favourite rock band won't be many folks favourites on here, but I'm always fascinated by what they were listening to and they obviously had great taste. There are other examples but maybe someone else can remind me.
  14. Always a quality event
  15. Sad news, regulations and red tape, laws in the US seem worse than in the UK
  16. Ace venue and always great music, hope to make this one
  17. This is more than event, it's a tradition really, bringing together people annually to do something great.
  18. Spot on, it is out of the bottle but a cultural change is possible and it starts with conversations like this.
  19. I don't know why they need to, most post their playlist, seconds after their set is finished
  20. Totally agree Paul, this is wrong! Not the way to treat a member who has done nothing wrong
