  1. I think maybe the illustious mr levine may be a contender, not neccassarly in a direct way but all those disco efforts he produced and later the hi energy stuff were all influenced by N.S. He's always worn his influences on his sleeve, no matter what you might think he has been a rated and indemand pop producer.
  2. Ethically would it be something to be proud of making a mint from an underground working class scene? To many I'm sure it would be okeh, but the thought of it turns my stomach and makes me quite angry that the scene, so savy and credibility focussed, in some ways would allow it to happen, and maybe, perhaps, hyperthetically allow it to go on happening.
  3. Traditionaly bank holliday sundays used to be all about a single big event, the Ritz and then the wheel revivals beofre it. Sposse we should revel in it really though, like you say nidge. I'd love to be @ crossfire but sadly funds and family wont allow it, gotta see maxine brown sometime! Hope to be @ 7 inch soul on sunday though.

  5. Maybe the same slur of, 'is this real enough' could be easily leveled at, ahem the larger oldies nights and nighters, How many are 'only here for the beer?'
  6. If it was the princess suit, could it of been the famed night when butch had chairs hurled onto the dancefloor, after playing his dellarks CU? stoke oldies crowd were fearsome back then!
  7. hi Dave, happy days indeed, bout time you were out and about again?
  8. When I and many others got into it in the 8t's there wasnt all that many kids on the scene that were my own age. It doesnt have to about a massive influx of teeners onto the scene over say a couple of years, people drift into it in their late 2o's and early 30's, lets face it mainstream entertainment seems to cater primarly for the under 25's, a safe environment with its own culture can seem quiet appealing. A guy recently said to me that his busy, town centre, oldies night's biggest attraction wasnt the music it was not seeing anyone fighting or pucking, just people being civilised, there'll always be a market for that.
  9. The scene's a lot like a conveyer belt, when one gets off another gets on, so many forty something's are off now have kids and the like, so we may see these guys returning as the years progress.
  10. I have to say, there seems to have been a growing contingent of under thirties at the kings, most of whom have called into change first.
  11. Is it actually marsha Gee then? I was suprised when I saw that cover, as someone told me it was uncredited.
  12. yeah your right Nidge, not a bad sound , but is there any reason this had any less issued than say, 'dont talk like that'? its the price thats over rated indeed, not the tune par say, seems like there's loads of hoarders out there just waintg to pounce as soon as something get even moderatly tipped.
  13. sorry guys, this one seems a little over rated and over hyped to me.
  14. Some great spins there, from both you guys, as always, Bidds has to be my favorite nighter for tunes!
