Sorry can't help with ya search, but can't stop myself from saying - What a great record!
Good luck with the hunt, I'm sure someone will have one for sale.
All the best,
Len
Yup - never a true word spoken mate. A few things I remember you spinning, but the majority being played by you and others at that time went straight over some of our heads. Hey, enjoy your laughing mate, I’m now enjoying your tunes - but never forgetting who made each and every one of them possible.
Better late than never…..
All the best,
Len
Fascinating stuff (but I probably won't remember most of it) I just want to hear it again, and again, and again, so here it is - FANTASTIC!

Let's imagine for one moment that loads of originals have been found - Someone mentioned that he hopes not, and I agree (except that I would love to have one) The question is, if it did end up a 'one in everyone's box' would people lose interest / enjoyment as has happened with other records?
I personally think this record is actually too good to 'kill'
All the best,
Len Hoping loads don't turn up......or do I?
For what it's worth (a bit of feed back for you) I've just re-read Ady's opening post and I am confident that he started this thread with genuine discussion interests at heart. If he didn't mention The 100 Club on the back of the subject he wouldn't be a very good promoter,The 100 Club is 'the' place to mention on the subject.
.....Had it of been me - Guilty as charged your honour ......That's 'promoting', and why it's called 'promoting'.......and I'm sure Mike would have seen straight through my feeble attempt to promote my event........
......See you on 16th November at 'Len's Den'
All the best,
Len (of 'The Den')
I always thought it was first played in the 80's, but wouldn't be surprised if Richard Searling played it earlier - I've had it on tape since the late 80's.
All the best,
Len
Ok, maybe I am being a bit positive / wishful thinking - It has been like you have described for a long time, and I was thinking / hoping that things are a changing......Maybe slightly aye? There does seem to be a positive vibe about at the moment, and I do think that Life-line and places like it are at least now being looked at by these people.
All the best,
Len
Has it? .......You probably missed a discussion where some people said it was a dance floor killer (That's why Ted said he had sold his), and that there was not a lot about the record, so I understand how that may have come across to you (I completely disagreed) I know it's been around for years - To me it's one of my tape sounds that filtered down from guys like you - not sure where or when it was first played, and would be interested.
All the best,
Len
What is good about great venues is that they have their own identity. I never went to Middleton so can’t comment on any comparisons with Life-line, but I’m thinking the main comparison you are making is the excitement of it, inspired by what was a fantastic All-nighter Sat night - Great stuff
All the best,
Len
P.s - Never forgetting The 100 Club ‘chugs away’ as strongly as ever.
Yes - I think ten years on from when the 'returnees' um, 'returned', people have realised that these folk ain't stupid - They came back, enjoyed what they used to do, and are now looking for 'something else' - The very thing that attracted them to the scene in the first place!
Long may it continue - TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER!
All the best,
Len
Is that a dare?
......Can you imagine if he did?......and it 'worked'?!!!......The record may very well go to the 'dizzy heights' of £7.50!!!
Hey - He showed us all how to play 'Romona Collins - You've Been Cheating' at Life-line didn't he now?
So.....if ya reading this Butch......I'll leave the thought with you
.......I still recon he would be able to do it
All the best,
Len
I do except there is a difference between what can be played at a Soul Night compared to an All-nighter. Like any record, it all depends where you are / who the crowd is etc. Some can and do dance to tunes like these - in other situations, some like to be out to just listen and enjoy.
All the best,
Len
P.s - I bet (If he wanted to) Butch could 'splice' it in, and keep the floor going when playing some of his slower stuff (Especially at The 100 Club)
Hi mate,
No I didn't know this - Nice one, thanks.
I'll be playing 'The Festivals' at Boomerang on 23rd November - So folks, feel free to pop along to enjoy it with me (or throw things at me!)
All the best,
Len
Bit of a complicated question I must say. An honest answer from me - I did my best to bring the music I heard when travelling to my local area, and believe that has changed some local peoples attitudes in a positive way - I was lucky to have bought almost every D.J that I respect / enjoy to sunny Wellingborough at a time when the scene (to me) was really special.
But 'as a whole' there are loads of things that shape the scene (both in a good way, and a bad way)
All the best,
Len
P.s - My taste isn't the same as the majority, it is influenced by my own history, which matches others of course.
Done!.....Hang on, no.....it's 'buy low, sell high'.......I keep getting that mixed up.......
........Well maybe......if you find a buyer for the other record.......hang on (again)......um......there's no profit there is there? I'd be just like a proper Record Dealer - Doing it for love
Len
The cost of records is, and always has been irrelevant to me - When D.Jing, if I have a £1,000.00 record on one deck, and a £5.00 record on the other, I see them both 'averaged out' to £502.50 each
All the best,
Len
