Our soul night has been double booked for saturday for a wedding Our dates first Saturday are in the diary at the welfare the year prior but due to the management the night has been cancelled for the soul Apologies to everyone as this was the last of our 2024 events we will be back in February for the 2025 i will upload events & Djs for our 25th anniversary year

Agree you just have to accept the risk not the seller, but now there is a new handling facility more are getting caught I have no problem paying the VAT & import duties its the handling charge which is wrong

If the items are over £15 in value you are liable for VAT so also incurring the post office handling charged if records + postage go over £30 you then start to incur the import duties as well , got done recently on VAT when I purchased 3 records from Daptone the value of the records was $20.97 taking it over the £15 limit ended up paying £11.75 fees , I always ask sellers to put low figure on items ie $5.99 & take the risk even on high end stuff but some dealers now not prepared to do it

Who was that buying virtually everything at the back of the room i didn't recognise him Only bid on couple of lots as you say wasted day but we had a laugh in the pub opposite with Dicka & Steve telling of times they tried to buy records off John & come away with nowt , I know how they felt after today , John was nearly present at the auction as Dicka has his ashes in the boot of his car

Just wasted a full day set out at 9 back at 7.30 but the craics been good few of the lads from Newcastle there

This lot contained Eddie Parker I'm Gone & Rose Baptiste boots dealers & internet driving prices up every record lot started at £100 auction started at 11 records never came on till 4 cheapest batch went for £160 , 2 lots for around £500

Majority is blues ,doo wop, 60s, few motown bit of reggae, Northern mainly reissues or boots all mixed up in the lots & yes it is the remnants from Johns collection spoke to a few who have been through these when John was alive & not a great deal of any to note sale starts at 11.00am 25% buyer commission on top , I printed them off for our soul night last night for collectors to have a look at no big records on original of what we could see

I was shocked when I was told yesterday by Yocky of Johns passing my thoughts go out to all of his family & friends at this tragic time R.I.P John
