  1. uh yeah, loveley tune that
  2. Mine without the picture cover....would love to see this picture cover though.
  3. hold it hold it...I am not booted off ebay, don`t know what makes you think so...oh, now I know. You mean because of the jumping and warped record a friend of mine bought off you on ebay via the person you did let sell your records on ebay (why I now start asking myself...has the honourable Mr Trouible been biooted off ebay ?) ? It really was very fair of you to not mention any warps and jumps and to top it off not even to consider a price reduction or a refund for said record. In fact another reason not to buy from you. But as I don`t like the acetate your advertising at all anyway (in fact I think its quite poor) I wouldn`t have thought of taking part anyway. Even not if it wouldn`t have been you selling it.
  4. No problem Andy, I know what you mean.. ATB Marc
  5. thats at least one understandable reason...although having put better choosen words in better context wouldn`t have harmed you IMO.
  6. Exactly, and any foreign interested party is invited to ask some of his English fellas to discuss and finalize the deal with James and let them even do the paypal thingy for you. Would save the foreign buyer 50 % of the price and the risk of sending cash
  7. How can any record belong to any country / nation`s scene ? If it would belong to anywhere then it would be the country of its origin, the USA. Excuse me, but that is total nonsense.
  8. was on a soul supply "NORTHERN SOUL STORY" LP late eighties so at a guess not elusive or forgotten about enough to have been played out (by him).. ? Still a great 45 of course as is the Superlatives on early design Westbound Records too, "Lonely In A Crowd". Both have excellent flipsides by the way Ops, double posting, sorry.
  9. shocking story, sincerely hope you get a chance to get them vback. somehow. atb Marc
  10. Dave, you played it at Soulshakers Bamberg in 2007 first time out (to my ears) in Germany. I got mine via Andy indeed later that year and kept it as a C/UP as Dave Thorley still had his copy covered up. Lars got his after Nürnberg Weekender 2009. He didn´t play it as a C/UP as did not George Mahood and also not Matt Weingarden. So when a (vg) copy (second ever to my knowledge) showed up on ebay couple of weeks ago there wasN´t any use keeping it as C/Up anymore anyway..especially not as Andreas Dienel played his newly bought copy at the Dresden Weekender uncovered. But most people knew by whom it was in the meantime anyway. So, who wants to sell me the nice picture cover then https://www.popsike.c...4741360080.html
  11. Personally I know of two dealers. And they both told me (without me even me asking LOL !) One is in Germany though and not really a Soul 45 dealer. My advice would be: Do not skim and try to avoid skimmed ones when buying. Amongst others I had one I always thought it could have been a victim of skimming (in fact I believe it was) played well until very recently it started to jump unbelieveable badly. I suspect because of (too) heavy skimming not enough groove left for the needle to find a steady hold in it. I am with Phil, skimming is good. Marc
  12. Hope you don´t mind Chalky, but I think the title is missleading as we don`t know yet if indeed we are talking about German bootlegs (Iris Bell, Dynamic Corvettes etc. ... Willie tee definitely not German) ? It started as a thread about people bidding heavy money on pressings and developed into a general debate about bootlegs.
  13. I think you are absoluteley right here Nev. And I will add to that my opinion, that there are - much too many re-releases (not even getting into wether legit or not) - being done much too early. I mean, who needed a Willie tee "You Gotta Pay Your Dues" boot (already?). For those like me who wanted to listen to it at home could have bought the exceptional and legit CD which was released years ago, those who want to dance to it can have sth to look forward to when going to a night bUTCH! is on. So why a boot at all and especially now I ask ? Way to soon for one of those oh so seldomly these days found "newies". IMVHO. Surely someone will come up now and say bootlegs have been part of the "scene" since it started, but hey, its not 1975 anymore where you can find 10 unknowns in the next 25 count box. I mean... Marc
  14. amazing....tobias. well, ... I don`t know if these are legit or not. It makes you wonder indeed though... Amazed to see Iris Bell Trio (which originally is on Cadillac, Detroit) . After having immense fun out of it late nineties I filed it away and would have never dreamed someone would be re-releasing this 45 LOL ! I suppose you would have had to wrok really really hard to get contact to whoever owned this label/rights in Detroit
  15. Oh, yeah. Got a certain feeling I know who he is..."famous" over here for doing bootlegs...
  16. cheers, so it might be by Gerald indeed. So at another guess not a bootleg at all but an official re-issue although winfield parker once told me he is not interested in any kind of re-issues on 7inch. Marc NB wasn`t touchy at all
  17. Not every seller is automatically the originator of a bootleg...hence my question.
  18. Out of interest, when was the dynamic corvettes bootleg done (and by whom) ? Anyone knows ? Marc
  19. Had a nine hrs travel back home this sunday and thankfully this book was with me. What a interesting read it is indeed ! It was especially very interesting for someone like me who wasn´t around at the time to learn so much about the background of the Ritz, Yate, Cleeethorpes and Mecca Allnighters (alldayers), the people behind and organizing these plus the music which "made" these places. This all accompanied by great pictures and scans plus informative record reviews. A fabulous book for the Soulie indeed ! Marc
  20. gold benji, gold. not yellow
  21. most astra 45s were done in coloured vinyl. I had four / five different copies of the monorays beauty on astra...all in diffreent colours, gold, red, blue... Some do look down on astra as one of the very first re-isue labels. They indeed (also) concentrated on putting out group, harmony and doo wop records that were much envogue due to heavy radio rotation in pittburgh a few years after these 45s were originally released on their first labels. Still I like the label, design and output very much. Marc
  22. The auction I am on about was in July this year. Do I mix things up (again LOL) ?
  23. which was given its quality and rarity a steal IMHO. Came out twice, seem to remember JM saying the yellow was a later release or sth like that. Old Hip City spin from 2002 by the way. Marc
