  1. just been checking on two Detroit sides incl. https://www.mideathnotices.com and there is no notice. Dont know how accurate and up to date the site is but there is some hope..
  2. weyhey, that would be great...super great in fact
  3. well, a look in the HIP CITY calendar of 2011 shows thankfully there is the name Ian Wright written...down for november 12th ...oh, and staying with the funkier side of things we`ll have Andy Dyson and Paul Sadot on in March. Nuff promoting for now LOL !
  4. well, judging from both our posts we seem to have both suceed in our trying
  5. the history of Northern Soul has seen..heard....much much worse. its not a eula cooper or anything similar (black sounding) but it definitely has some charme to it. all IMO only of course.
  6. not saying this record is worth 4K or anything near to that amount, but what has a popsike result to say in this case as it was until recently not known to many people at all ? Plus it wasn`t listed under Soul so it surely slipped under the radar of many who search the bay on a daily basis and like to risk to buy sth unknown from timie to time.. I sincerely hope this fella whos selling the record had been watching soul-source a long time to study and learn how strange some "new" records sometimes can get confronted with comments such as "its sh**te", "worst record ever", "I much prefer Marc Bolan to this" etc...so that he will be able to get over the shock he surely otherwise will have when logging back into this topic
  7. If it is true ... and I sincerely hope its not...RIP Clyde Wilson and so many thanks for your music
  8. not with in the skinhead/reggae scene where this 45 actually had no credibiltiy as it was too "poppy" or simply too much a soul record. It used to sell for a fiver until not too long ago...Actually it was first released on Trojan Records subsidiary Bread Records strangely enough with a flipside sung in German maybe that is the reason ..and here we answer your question where this record gets played out...why it is played on the German Soul scene..THE JAN from Hamburg featuring this tune in particular.
  9. absolutely seconded. well, mr parker doesnt have had a copy left and the very few that were sold to the UK `s top DJ`s came all from one source..so I doubt quantity will ever crop up. maybe the odd copy on ebay in years (just like Willi Tee`s YGPSD) but I am afraid thats about it..
  10. there is by the way already a soundfile on soul-source...just found it ! /forums/topic/135184-connernsoul45s-libary/
  11. hi mark, sorry I cant do soundfiles, but as I just played it and it stillis on my decks feel free to pm your home number and I play it down the phne for you...seeing I now have this great cheap new flatrate LOL!
  12. would be interested to see the final result of this if you dont mind ... I found one several years ao and used to play it and at least back then no one knew it. It is by the way not the John Richbourg owned Rich label. Fantastic atmospheric tune that just builds and builds. Thanks for reminding
  13. Yeah, me. Maybe two years ago in a similar thread. Not that I am lucky enough to call a copy my own but when I heard it at Bamberg Soulshakers (in the DJ`s house five minutes after we arrived :o ) it blew me straight away LOL !
  14. Good pont....the dance factor. One thing for sure, this little 45 gets people moving and dancing, which in the end is not the most unimportant factor at an allnighter. Having said that, each to their own and you cant argue about taste. To me, as I have stated one brilliant Soul 45 !
  15. and still: on the vast majority of occassions your taste seems to be outasite I must say
  16. so am I right in assuming the people in switzerland can look forward to hear this played out ?
  17. I think it definitely will still be around in 5 years time..even bigger then now bearing in mind it only just about now gets a wider recognition esp. europe-wide. Personally think its a fantastic tune, it has just about everything in it (for today). I do always get a huge response when I play it and at least one person comes to ask what it is...this new years eve weekender over here, hamburg anniversary before, n¼rnberg before that, every single Hip City and the list continues.. Marc
  18. Just receieved a mail from winfield parker and yes, the Ru-Jac owned stuff out now on Tramp incl. Dynamic Corvettes are legit and fully paid for. Which is a good thing.
  19. top tips for 2011 ? out of all the records dave thorley played at my house on new years eve before we headed off for the venue I would guess about ten...but then I forgot five (balme the following allnighter) and I bet the others I am not allowed to tell. Good to know how much brilliant stuff there still is to be found.
  20. season greetings to all on soul source from Germany, have a great and peaceful xmas and a very good new year ! Hope to see and meet many of my friends old and new in the new year , atb marc
