  5. cheers tony ..guess you would like Salt & Pepper C/UP and John Ellison C/UP as well
  6. alright then, must have had a false memory on melvin davis / wheel city then...maybe I saw the 1300 USD price myself before and got it wrong thinking it was UKP. Anyway, what a record and a brill flipside (not for you though Steve..its R&B ;)
  7. two questions in one here...867 UKP aint cheap in general. A Melvin Davis/Wheel City @ 867 is very reasonable not to say "cheap" IMO ? When did you last see one ? And what was the selling price ? I would have thought its 1K at least...seem to remember a copy being advertised on here a couple of years ago for sth like 1200 UKP (Pete Smith on a comission sale maybe ?)
  8. yeah ted, the good old days... ...seriously though hasnt it been way dearer since the late eighties ?
  9. ops, just realized...been twice. both occasions rampacked by the way
  10. wow, is it just me...but melvin davis and jock mitchell really cheap...while nick allen and delettes I dont know ?
  11. its soulabillie...stephan hasnt applied yet ....sure he would pass though
  12. hello there steve , dont know wether the acetates are to blame, but yes I also always have to open my box once it has passed the x-ray machine. but no big deal ever so far
  13. sadly only been once (living in Germany..) but it was extremely well attended and the dance floor extremely full. THE upfront (sorry Chalky ;) venue in the UK nowadays IMO. Residents and guests digging way deeper than the average DJ and still deliver high class. Perfect line up for a mixed oldies/upfront nighter ? easy, again just take any Lifeline dj rooster.
  14. sold your partner in crime a spare barrett strong last year or the year before...as he never ever plays it out..he maybe willing to swap ;) ?
  15. Thats the way Butch is doing it everytime he travells. I travel quite a lot with my dj box using airlines, maybe six times a year or so and never ever had problems with a 300 count box up until last year. Similar to what happenend to Steve G...since then I only travel with a 100 count box (once bought at Beatin Rhythm) and it fits all size and weight limits. Does limit you indeed a bit in what to bring but on the other hand, how often you carry the same old say 100 + reocrds with you that you just never ever play or just dont wanna play but still carry them with you for that one "just in case" moment ? Limitation is a bonus for the quality..see it that way NB and indeed...ryan air should be a total NO GO...unless you fancy sitting on dirty seats and toilets, love to pay for any extra, being treated like cattle and being "entertained" on board by Borats sisters ...acetates no problem by the way..
  16. last time I looked it was sth like 152 UKP...
  17. Arthur, Maria, Franz, Lars...playlists my friends..pleeeeze ;)
  18. blimey, thats has come down in price ?! great 45.
  19. Forget about hepcats (sorry nils ) rockabillies and stuff...soulabillies is the only real thing mate..we founded it a decade or so ago..great scene, loud shirts and fabulous soul music...so far its only three of us (Trickster, me and my girlfriend)...but our "scene" is growing almost by the day LOL !!
  20. Have it...but not played it in ages..will dig it out for further inspection
  21. wow rach, great..fantastic to hear..looking forward then to your next visit
