  5. Thats the way I start of every single Hip City..with 60 minutes of Deep and Sweet Soul. Thankfully our regulars are between the age of 19 to 65, a mixture of young dancers, mods, skins and soulies and hardcore collectors.
  6. Bought mine for sth like 150 usd miss-listed on ebay about four years ago mate...if that is of any help to you ?
  7. me neither, but still what a great record. used to hammer it a few years back but must admit its the deep DEEP DEEP flipide which I play these days when I pull this record out to play on my (home) system. What a awesome piece of soul music that is. stunning.
  8. me and a mate here in berlin always try to put the records in date matching sleeves...can become quite difficult esp. with such labels as loma, jamie, king and federal, kapp to name but just a few. bought a dearborn sleeve for 20 eurs via facebook last year lol just to give my multi-coloured silky hargreaves a cool looking home..and benji is right...it looks ace, be it original correct or not. would love to have a USA sleeve, never had that. have become almost an artist over the years lol when it comes to re-build old sleeves. got a FINE Records mailer via my darling dears buy as I am sure some did..

  15. well said that man, exactly my thoughts.
  16. Ian Wright by the way has or had an acetate too with the intrsumental take on it (only)
  17. sure he has, thats why he played said tune heavily around 2005 ;)
  18. Good fun this...Mine were Martha Reeves "Nowhere To Run", "Motoring" and "Wild One" on Gordy (if that counts)...first "real" Rare Soul 45 was Ronnie Forte "Whiskey Talking" TARX. Found it in a shop very close to our old MOD place where we used to hang around on saturday afternoons. Found the place actually by accident only, was overwhelmed by teh sheer amopunt of 45s, went back a few days later and teh place had gone...dont want to know what was in there...
  19. sold the orange ATCO rel for a mere 50 ukp about 7-8 years ago, the green one crops up quite regulary on ebay...maybe250 if you catch a lucky moment. white HIB seems to be the most exclusive rel. probably 350 - 400 ukp indeed.

  21. I see, thanks for putting that right. nice version that was!
  22. 500 ? the guy sure wasnt serious, was he ? the last two I know of went for 2500 UKP.
  23. if its the same acetate as the one Michael Robinson had (or still has?) its a slightly different take. Back then I seem to remember it being advertised on here for sth like 3 - 500 UKP ?
