  1. loads indeed on a not too wild guess...a fabulus unrel. acetate by Marke Jackson for a start..
  2. Man! crazy, I just posted this (indeed current Hip City spin ;) ) on FB and already three people showed their interest...if you dont finalize a deal on here Joel, it may be a good idea to get on hassle free...its in the darling dears thread..oh, good man Steve Clancy was one of them...
  3. theres at least two as I have one too. bought it six years ago after an allnighter in leipzig shortly before I went back to the hotel...a deal in a rush, which sometimes can proove the best ones. on looking back I must say I am quite happy I did that deal despite the vg at best condition. its not a jobete acetate but a motown 7inch acetate with the known look and feel to it, red and back typing.
  4. terrible loss. rip
  5. cheers frank , glad you lilke it...if your reaction at the anniversary was anything to go by I had indeed a feeling you would ;) first played it out 2004 or ´05 in Hamburg at the mandarin kasino when I was guesting there together with butch. just sort of re-activated it of lately ;)
  6. isnt this just a re-doing of what comes up on a yearly basis entitled "who is your favourite mate -sorry- DJ on the scene ?" ... if yes we had it for this year already, hadnt we ? would be much more interesting if people would add an explanation to their choices...if I would live in the UK I would for example say sth along the lines like Clanger -cause is not only not playing the same old same old but also puts together interesting, good sets Liam Quinn, Gary, Rich Evans and many other young(er) gunners - cause they knwo what they do, do their very own thing (behind the decks) and are what this Soul thing needs ..if it wants a future Dave Ripolles - cause he always plays a fabulous crossover and modern set with that certain little sth to them butch - cause he is not only # 1 but still manages to always amaze me with more than just one tune that will be new to my ears ? ...any many more
  7. exactly my thoughts..at least the last couple of weeks..at least one. brill record but another example of "once upon a rare record before the age of ebay"
  8. love old US soul radio shows and would really love to hear snippets of the above mentioned, definitely something special and part of ns history. thanks for the info
  9. Sorry to say but in that case my weekly show "soulful shoes" predated yours by 5 years Having said that I truly believe that there must have been several shows before in the eighties ?
  10. Current top offer is 700 USD... As stated, will close this in 4,5 hrs at 4.00 pm uk time
  11. Supreme modern soul gem by Connie Laverne "Cant`t Live Without You" in M- condition, comes in its orig. GSF sleeve (M- too). Looks fabulous and sounds even better... 800 USD (about 535 ukp) or best offer by tomorrow sunday 4 pm uk time (no jokers please) Thanks for looking, Marc
  12. what would this highly knowledgeable jury say is the value of the orig stamped styrene test pressing (mint) ?
  13. great idea..theres some tunes that will immediately spring to my mind... back on the old subject...a tune I just cant stand anymore (once had the 45 myself some years ago and loved it..): Courtis Davis "Try To Think What You Are Doing"
  14. "time to get that mic working" LOL
  15. hi darren, really must say since a good few months you keep offering some pretty amazing tunes. top
  16. your back paul ? now that would be THE news of this summer matey!
  17. personally exactly that jazzy workout is one of the many aspects why I love this tune. tricky for a DJ to keep the flow afterwards but one that really does the business is this fabulous tune which is also on our current Anniversary Free - Give away CD https://youtu.be/SECyOfszgAI
  18. which is a controversial statement ;)
  19. here comes a even "better" confessional: I played "green onions" AND "twine time" in my first spot LOL
  20. well, in that case you better be happy you didnt make it to our 22nd anni festivities in the end as I played it out on sat around a quarter to three...nobody was moaning, some might have been screaming though.. Agree on the rest of what you say though, awesome artist and awesome 45. so sad he recently passed away. never ever would I sell mine (which came from the producer btw) or any other of my lou pride records and cd`s (yes, cd`s LOL).
  21. Yes I was, I have no problem with topics such as this and with being involved. Far from feeling a frustration myself is what I want to say.. It is just that I couldnt help but by using all the empathy I can read between the lines of Joels post some sort of frustration. Not so much about (only) this topic but maybe with a general situation...but whatever the case, its all too hypthetical. Maybe I am totally wrong and hes fine and just trying to be funny. Or worse..he really doesnt like the genres he just mentioned LOL (of course not!)
  22. ...and a bit frustrated. understandably somehow.
  23. https://www.raresoul45s.co.uk
  24. agreed. outside detroit I have to add scorpio and his people, andrew brown on brave. I hate the first and cant believe the appeal the second has (to some).
