  1. I sold my first knights around 1999/2000 and got around 150 for it...took me some years to replace it again for about 200 ukp. bought the very first known idols copy off pat brady when he had it back from gary spencer who used to play it c/up as soul bros six...it was an almost impossible to find 45 back then. think I paid 800 for it. found a vg spare some yaers later which I traded against new world or what it was called on polydor in 2006/7. havent seen many ex or better copies of the idols....at a guess around 1000 ukp nowadays.
  2. Glad you enjoyed it Benji, really appreciate your (good) feedack, wouldnt have thought you would enjoy it (that much). one day we (I ..lol) will have gotten you even into that "funky" stuf ;)
  3. cheers chalky, interested in what you think ! nb will you be joining andy and mick for our september celebrations ?
  4. sorry guys, I needed an upgrade for my copy LOL surely not! On a serious note, I had a bet going on with a mate of mine who remembering how many djs (ep. on the continnt) are after this tune said this 45 will make 8000 USD, I sad no way! it will make 4500 USD. but knowing who used to be the high bidder I feared for the worst ;) ...last copy I know of changed hands in a private deal end of last year for sth around 3000 UKP.
  5. the josephine taylor is so good..and nice to look at as a WD! great price as well and so right for todays Funk afficianos IMO...
  6. bloody hell, didnt see any of them!!! thats what you get from too much work...first you miss tim`s auctions on a friday, then you start to loose contact to manships auctions on wednesday evenings...in the end you dont even notice a bargain on ebay anymore when theres one to be had. Maybe I shoudl pack it all in LOL !!!
  7. yeah, and in the worst case in the end you will only end up getting a bad feedback as a timewaster because you did bother but didnt buy...
  8. must say though, had two and gave one away to paul welsby around the year 2000. would struggle to think I have seen more than two in the meantime..
  9. at a guess most didnt / dont know /realize just like I never did hence my asking. Understand you dont wanna force it any further, maybe this threads helps in getting more people s attention to this easy to solve "problem" though.
  10. thats why whenever I notice NO feedback at all for a night I assume it must have been slightly sub-optimal LOL Another good way to get your own impression and make up your wn mind is to have a look at photos from the night. some (most actually) can have a very unmasking effect ..
  11. Hi and sorry if its the wrong section to post, but as its concerning both sales and wants I didnt knew any better place, please feel free to move mods.. Anyway, whats been buggering me now for a long time is that so many people start threads in sales and wants with headlines giving no information at all about what 45 the thread will be about. It would be much easier and faster to manage if we would have a rule to name the titles the thread is on about already in the headline Obviously it doesnt apply to listings of four or more titels but as 90 % of the sales and wants listings are for individual items only it would be quite sufficent I believe. What do you think ?
  12. cheers recordlurv and john, appreciated. first track on part two is billy nitro "mystic lover" on resist, flipside to "as sweet as your love for me"
  13. Yippie!! in that that case please bring it with you in three weeks for the Hip City mate!

  15. plus Mr. Clean & The Soul Inc. "Hey Love / I Bet He Don`t Love You" Radio City 500 The Mix Breed "Love And Devotion / Monday`s Blues" Radio City RC-1004
  16. Hi Dave, after reading your post I had a look on the flipside of my Voicemasters on Frisco and you are indeed right "In Love In Vain"...same title, same song :o !! strangely enough the test pressing I played on solar is credited to one Adkins Brothers but is obviously the sam e recording. It doesnt feature "Two Lovers" on the other side though...BUT it does deliver a different very danceable track that I have been playing over the last couple of years here and there... so obviously next to the two sides of the released Frisco 45 its a third track by the Voicemasters on Frisco which wasnt choosen for release back in the day. I have to announce this one from now on as a unreleased Voicemasters tune. Thanks for enlighten me/us here , appreciated!
  17. thank you all for the really appreciated feedback, great you enjoyed my first visit in a radio studio for a complete show after 17 years. I must say it really was fun doing it. I will also upload the show on my soundcloud later so you can download ot listen if you like(if its not interferring with what john just said ( ?)
  18. I will have the pleasure to be presenting "Soul People" on Solar Radio this coming sunday. If you get a chance and have the time tune in and see if theres sth you like. Emphasis on the show is Soul... who would have thought so ;) !? I tried to mix it all a bit together so you get a bit of Crossover, Modern, some Funk or shall we say funky Soul, some Deep and Group as well as some Rare Soul and a good handful of unreleased tracks. Soul People this Sunday 10 - 12 am Sky 0129 www.solarradio.com Cheers Marc
  19. dave turner menioned it above in the dicography. you havent missed anything if you hent heard it though ;)
  20. I think you are right bob, its just not (yet) known, lack of demand will have hold it down price. will bovain should be the most cheapest on the radio city out of the ones I came across so far, would you agree ?.
  21. as I collect the label I came acorss this 45 ... as you say you dont see it too often. I started playing it out two years ago to some good reaction and it was included on our recent free give-away cd for our 22nd anniversary last month. no idea on a realistic sales value though..maybe 150 - 200 USD ?
  22. agree, immense double-sider. Amazed to see how much it went down price-wise though.
  23. So as I said not a subsidiary but a independently run label. Thanks for clarifying that up.
  24. Lindell Hill Remone .. not so sure on the Stax subsidiary theory...Arch was St.Louis and as far as I know only picked up by Stax for nat. distribution.
