It does Joel, after I played it at the Southampton Allnighter I had two people coming up the stage to ask me what it was.

Indeed, I have two instrumental Big Bo 45s on Gay Shel plus the fabulous "I`ve Got To Go" I played the great flipside to https://snd.sc/QqFghU on solar radio a month ago. "Well, Get it" used to be a regular spin of mine at such places as the Hideaway and Club Separee here in Berlin some ten plus years ago. Last friday when deejaying together with Callum (who did a great set!) at the Berlin Beat Explosion weekender I gave it a spin again...it sounded so goood!

indeed a great tune. not really under the radar though anymore, its been a a Hip City spin for some time and I even dared to play it at the recent Southampton Allnighter and Manchester European Cultured Festival Northern Soull night in May. Also included on our recent 22nd Annivesary CD in July. I can honestly say all his 45s on Gay Shel are very much worthwhile! Fantastic Texas Soul.

fair pioint Kev, still if you are going to bid a few hundred dollars (or even thousands) on a certian record you sure would know its story or at least would have done some research prior to placing your bid, wouldnt you ? Having said that I didnt want to sound (too) rude it is just that from day one of ebay I couldnt and still cant get my head around people bidding high sums at the start of an auction. Just like Ted MAssey has pointed out. Especially when in nine out of ten times these early bidders dont participate in said auction any more the nearer it gets to closing time. Auctiopn sniper should be the "secret" advise here...

butch used to play it as a c/up. At our 22nd anniversary weekender in july greg belson aired it on the friday night.."some" people by recognizing the sound of the song from various spots by butch rushed to the decks to see the real identity of said tune ... butch wasnt too amused about it ;) great record indeed. and yet another case where "certain" people did bid said copy up higher and higher only to have completely dissappeared when it came to nail it...dont know what is their motivation to do so. do teh yget a cick from being the high bidder for three hrs on a indemander ? anyway, good for the sellers, bad for the seriously interested dj and/or collector. IMVHO.

...best thing would be if you go for a individual experience anyway, join one of the upcoming big European events such like the upcoming Hamburg Soul Weekender Oct 19- 21st , Ní¼rnberg Soulweekender first weekend in december, Aachen Soulweekender or Bamberg Soulshakers Weekender April/May next year and make up your own mind. I bet if you are not belonging to the Oldies fraternity you wont be dissappointed.

To answer the initial question, I think it is fair to say that Soul Injection, Voltaires/Bacone, Waymond Hall, John Harris, Joey irving / Just Us Band, Brother Love, Charlene & The Soul Serenaders, E. Williams/Jimmy Williams, Soul Inc. would be -amongst others- in a current European Niter Spins top ten ...if there would be one ;)

before (belgian) popcorn and R&B sadly had their rendezvous and where still two "scenes" of their own there was a venue in las vegas (late nineties) that used and as far as I am concerned originated the phrase "tittyshakers" to describe their sounds. I used to have a link to their website but have lost it ages ago and am not so sure it still is going on today. Anyway, from that time on (late nineties/start of the 2000s) you could watch the phrase being used more and more up until today where it has become another tag for a music genre some call new breed or R&B and others still call Popcorn. What may have helped to make the name so en vogue was the revival of the whole boheme savage and burlesque thing plus the widening of the tastes of some protagonists of the Rockabilly scene which brought both scenes closer to each other.
