  1. more like 1000 gbp IMO.
  2. brilliant bob, almost spilled my coffe reading that. your email received, answer will follow later today (was busy during the xmas and new years eve time of teh year)
  3. think you are right dave, pretty much my opinion too. I dont know why I did not reflect my point of view and got more en detail before posting it. of course its better to own a bad conditioned record of a top rare tune instead of not havin it at all...as long as its playable and -most important- the price was fair. think what duncan ball referred to and what I agreed on were top end prices on medium rare records in bad condition (for example knights in vg at 200). atb marc
  4. sure, will do that during the festive season. send me your details va pm
  5. nice picture of eddie daye & the four bars (incl. betty wilson)
  6. just found the local first release
  7. if anyone wants jackie wilson I`ll Believe I`ll live on give me a shout. I have a spare and cant recommend it enough.. 25 gbp
  8. think the counts was missing at least he offered to buy mine
  9. he sold them long time ago though
  10. A "buyer from the states" has, Martin Adams has, Andy Rix and Tim Brown are/were close. A millionaire from Japan tries really hard to get one accomplished. Andy and Tim may have sold some bits lately so they might be not as close as they used to be ? wonder who`s feeding JM with those tasty Shrine bits at the moment though... one of the above mentioned or somebody else ?
  11. great work, what a tune and so nice to watch !
  12. sold mine a year ago for 200 euros. its not as if there was qeue outside my door.
  13. Hi Tony, I sort of collected the Right On label a couple of years ago. The Right On version is sligtly different. I like it more than the one on Dove but thats just me. I never understood the connection between the US and the UK label and also asked on here once if someone ould enlighten me. There was no really satisfying answer though.
  14. not all of what he sold were fakes. it aint making it better ..but still. his fake ones were easy to detect as their made to look authentic labels could be peeled off by your finger tipps only to bring to light fresh new nineties label prints. got a kosher JR "you made a man out of me" along other nice things off him and but also got caught with one "bad" one.
  15. a shame really but it was almost certain this was about to happen, wasnt it ? we had / have a thread on here where the more pessimistic bunch of us (incl. me) mentioned this as one of the possible negative aspects of this re-issue project..
  16. two fab 45s and their others has stll eluded me. sadly.
  17. hi mal, no, CM has the original. Original is three figures but not 600 USD IMO.
  18. craig moerer has one at 600 usd which I think is a bit high. that may explain why hes still having it..
  19. some very tasty 7ts bits incl. a one-off in the shape of the (to the best of my kowledge) only known rideout copy complete with the original cool picture sleeve up for bids here https://www.ebay.com/sch/resist34/m.html?item=230891554878&pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item35c235883e&_sop=3
  20. Cant see anyone having knocked said record. People dared to say they dont like it, mostly for its (yes - I repeat) terrible guitar break. Furthermore I dont believe its appropriate to say that people who dont like a certain tune "are not getting it". People who have a different taste may well have as much a clue or even more about music as people who do "get" a certain tune. One should always be able to accept other peoples taste and opinion without trying to diss them. It doesnt matter if one was around or not at Johns place or the scene in general when records were "discovered". We are living now and every comment was made about this 45 in todays context. Hats off to whoever discovered whatever and in what ever context and where and when (although in many cases from reading it seems it was mostly a case of who was on top of John Andersons call list), still we are all entitled to our own opinion. Marc BTW Flourescent Smogg is one fabulous record.
  21. problem is: all copies feature that awful guitar though ;)
  22. you know what..I saw it and wasnt even bothered. At a guess a few felt the same way.
  23. fabulous doublesider that had some massive plays from me (over here) and Jörg Brenner too (who outbid me once on one of teh first that surfaced on ebay...bad ruthless boy that he is ;) I remember Steve Smith "arguing" with Tim Brown once about who discovered it first as he was pretty sure he had it already in the Stafford days.
