although its sad and should be the other way round really I think you are right. furthermore to be always up to date with new stuff or fairly newer /semi-known stuff you have to be on the case everywhere, niters, podcasts, soundclouds, mixclouds, radio shows, cd`s, ebay, soul-source, fb and all its various groups etc etc etc just too much really. hence why people (like me) end up hearing stuff first via a dj at an allnighter (butch in this case). a bit like in old times really, despite you had them so called collectors tape swaps back then. seems as if they are complete replaced by now by the list of possiblitites I compiled earlier in this message.
plus and to repeat myself here, I sadly never listened to Jasons shows due to a lack of time. same applies to finewine etc. I know jason personally and met him a few times here in Berlin, a top bloke and knows his stuff for sure. so I am more than sorry to have missed his shows back then. If I wouldnt have I might have been able to catch up with you on stuff like Clay Brown/Aljon ;) LOL
